Are we sure?

The running time is completely off on the back cover (it says 151 minutes, but the theatrical cut was 157 and the DC was 165), and it says Unrated instead of R, which makes me think this may not be the theatrical cut after all.

Good point, given Mann's tendency to recut his movies continually I wouldn't be surprised if this is a new edit. Having said that this is one of his I've never actually seen!

It's a brilliant film which I thought -- obviously incorrectly -- I would never get to see on Blu-ray. Thank goodness it's finally happening.

I was just about to post this. This ain't the theatrical cut or director's cut if that run time is accurate.

During the promotional tour of BLACKHAT, he did say that he was working on a new cut of ALI that he felt was the best cut of the film.

Very curious about this, considering I still have my director's cut on DVD. Might still need to keep that bad boy.

Slightly yes. It beefs up some nuance that was vague in the theatrical cut. I greatly prefer it to the theatrical cut. It's kind of like Suicide SQUAD in that it's only 11 or 15 Extras minutes I think but he did some rearranging and used some alternate takes as well. If you're not well versed with the theatrical cut, you might not notice.

Looking forward to it, but seems like a wasted opportunity in terms of extras and what not, even the dvd had commentary, what about the different versions! just release one special edition, FFS!

Where are you seeing that? Are there any other $2.99 HDX deals for today? I know there will be deals for tomorrow (Christmas) but I'm not seeing any for today.
