Since this is a new 4k scan performed by Arrow, I imagine the original MGM/UA Communications logo will be present in 4k, being Shout's Poltergeist III 2k scan has it.

Classic comedy that deserves a better transfer.
Had only recently bought the MGM (as an upgrade to my DVD), but after giving it a viewing and seeing how bad the transfer looked (especially the damage to the print), I have pre-ordered the Arrow release and will gift the MGM as a Father's Day present. Average PQ is not an issue with my old man. ![]() |

I remember listening to Cleese's commentary/interviews back when the DVD first came out and found him very insightful.

It appears to be another great restoration from Arrow Video.

I saw John Cleese and Eric Idle last year when they were doing their comedy tour. Both were cool as hell, seemed like super nice guys. Both spent an hour signing Monty Python albums, books, blu-rays, etc. and talked to fans about all kinds of stuff. Their show was also amazing. Haven't laughed that hard in a long time. They actually did an encore of the encore for fans who stuck around to chat/get shit signed.

I used to watch this film all the time on VHS when I was like 3 or 4. But soon after the tape just disappeared. When I was about 9 we bought a movie pack that contained Wanda, and I was just bored by it. Now that I'm 15, looking back at some of the scenes just makes me piss myself laughing. I should get this edition soon. I ended up finding the tape, complete with the MGM/UA logo at the start, but the bloody tape chewed! I will keep this anyway. If I get this, it'll be the 4th incarnation of this film my family will have. The 1998 Aussie VHS, the 2000 Aussie DVD, and Disc 1 of the 2-disc set as part of the previously mentioned movie pack. Also as an interesting note to mention. The 2000 Non-Anamorphic Australian DVD mysteriously replaces the MGM logo with the 90's United Artists logo! I don't know why that happened, that's for sure! |
