Gutted that my favourite episode 'Evan' isn't available... after some research it seems some of the themes make it unsuitable for a modern audience.
Didn't research that extensively, because it took me about two minutes to find out it's because of rights issues.

If I had to guess specifically, it's probably because Gabriel still owns all his catalogue, he never sold the publishing, and he probably doesn't like Biko being used where the police kill people.

I hope we get a 4K set. I looked into the german set a few times and couldn't find it listed anywhere.

Evan is an absolutely amazing episode. I got the first three seasons on DVD many years ago and it is absolutely one of the top standout episodes that has really stuck in my mind.

One of the reasons it stuck is because of the way it perfectly used Peter Gabriel's song "Biko". Which makes me think, is the reason it's not available because Gabriel (or his label) wanted too much money to renew the streaming usage rights?

I doubt the lack of availability is due to unsuitable themes. If there's any episode that would warrant removal for that reason it would surely have to be the pro-IRA episode guest starring Liam Neeson.

Reminds me of when the BBC banned that episode of TNG because Data said Ireland was reunified. Because of where we are right now, it's laughable, but back then I can see why.

Just one more reason to air it

It was more because he was saying terrorism was integral in leading to the reunification of Ireland. I wouldn't have banned it but I can understand the reasoning.

This is the reason I own Miami Vice on Blu-ray... and Leprechaun.

Did the Mill Creek set get fixed? I thought I read somewhere that it had but now I can’t find it.

Yes, I would think any new sets out there are the corrected discs. They issued replacements pretty quickly.

The US set was down to £53 on amazon UK inc delivery and I had it in my basket and just read the site review to refresh my memory and no I thought against it.

Hopefully they are trying to clear stock in lew of a 4K upgrade coming.
