They've had some good ones recently like Carrie and Firestarter. Getting away from the crappy endless heads look. I'm happy about it.

SF rarely disappoint with its new art and this is no exception, awesome.
If this is great as their other recent remasters this should be an amazing release.

If they get interviews with Caan and Bates then this is a no brainer gotta buy disc. I'm glad I never bought the previous edition on blu. Good job Scream Factory.

It's more of a wintertime horror movie anyways, like The Shining or The Thing.

The time has finally come to ditch the barebones Blu from Fox. Hope SF comes up with a premium release of The Silence of the Lambs (and for that matter, even Hannibal) in near future.

The blu was barebones but the DVD included had a ton of features. Wonder what Shout will add...

Remastered-from-4k video and a new interview are incentives enough. Also, the Fox Blu was released in India without bundling the DVD with it, so that does ultimately make it barebones. And since SF's release is undoubtedly a collector's edition - that too for a high-profile title like Misery - a fully loaded 2-Disc set is very likely to happen.

If I ever win lotto I think I might invest in Shout Factory, they already do an awsome job but imagine what they could do with abit more cash.

Of all the independent horror labels that could use more cash, Shout! isn't one of them.

They're actually part of a larger company, whereas other labels like Synapse, Blue Underground, Code Red, Scorpion Releasing, etc. are basically just like two dudes in a rental office outside of a major city somewhere.

Agreed. I think one of the reasons why I love horror movies so much is they are seasonal. October I tend to watch the Halloween series, classic horror movies, zombie movies. Winter I like the Shining, The Thing, Misery. Summer time I like 80's slasher movies.

Probably Scream's best artwork to date. Got that classic 80s feel written all over it, and the tagline tops it off!

One of William Goldman's non-fiction essay books has the story of adapting "Misery" and it is a great read. Basically, when he first took the job, he misread the relevant violent sequence, so he wrote the "softer" version that is used in the movie, thinking it was exactly what happened in the book. Then people started saying "How are you going to do [act of violence] in a movie?" and he was confused, so he went back and re-read it and was horrified. Fortunately, everybody in the production liked the "softer" version that he wrote.
