I thought I remembered part 1 have some wonky baked in lip synch issues that would be great to get corrected. Part 2 would look fantastic in UHD, but I hope they don't nerf the sound in that one cause its just perfect as is.

Both of these are so under appreciated. They've aged better than OG Spidey and X-Men. Makes sense we'd get these soon to drum up anticipation for the reboot.

This news made my day, but I’m curious how’d they combine both parts? or they'd be separate releases (Sony, Universal)?
actually listened to GDT podcast the other day about he’s been planning the 3rd one all along... too bad studio went for the reboot...

Can't wait for both movies to be released on UHD. But I will forever consider it to be a crime that there will never be a third one...

Reckon Sony will go back to the negs on the first if Del Toro pushes for it?

Obviously we know Universal won't do that for the second, tbh all I want from that release is to finally have the making of doc on a BD and not a DVD but even that's probably asking too much from Universal.

With a finished DI sitting there? I really doubt it.

Sony could have used the OG DI for Bad Boys 2 but they didn't.

That cover (from the database entry) would be awesome. I imagine it as a steelbook...

The first came out in 2004??!! Wow it really has aged well. I hope 1 and 2 both get the 4k treatment!!!

Awesome bad guys in this movie. Rasputin, that crazy doctor guy that winds himself up.

Here would be an awesome cover: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0167190...r/rm3278772224 ... 196 on the front, 195 on the back.

I imagine 194 (the image you posted) as the target exclusive, if one.

Man this movie is a classic. Does this get talked about when discussing comic book movies? I would put it in the upper echelon. There is so much to like, so much to enjoy. I need this now!

They nearly always go back, it's Sony.

Wait, what? Sony rescans the negs on movies that were finished on DIs? Isn’t that, like, unheard of?

It's not unheard of, but it's certainly very rare. If it's a blanket policy for Sony, it's only for catalog titles, not new releases, which would make it, in addition to being very rare, also very odd.

They were one of the big proponents of 4K and before UHD Blu-ray was a thing they went back and did 4K scans/transfers of their entire catalogue IIRC. Some of the recent DIs may still be 2K (like Spider-Man 3) but I'm pretty sure some earlier DIs and less VFX-heavy DIs received new 4K transfers.

Glad to see these coming out in 4k and the funny thing is i just went through some scenes to test some new subwoofers and the PQ on the BR doesn't look as good as i had remembered but i have been watching a lot of 4k movies lately lol.

That is shocking, but awesome. Leave it to Sony to go the unexpected extra mile with this stuff.
