I just watched the Umbrella BD and I have to agree, it's pretty darn solid. It's up around #4 or 5 on a lot of "best werewolf movie" lists. Solid 80's monster stuff. I'd buy a UHD of it.

Yeah, but Paramount does not even have the rights to The Shining. Go complain to Warner.

Paramount will mind their own business and release what they will.

Besides, it's pure opinion over which movie is better...so that is a worthless pissing match.

This is happening because of the PS readaptation. When Doctor Sleep comes out soon, the Shining will likely get one.

I’m sure WB will do a 4K release of The Shining just in time for Doctor Sleep. Plus it’ll be the film’s 40th anniversary which would also make a grest tie-in.

Yikes. Why does one have to be a better one than the other? I love both Pet Sematary and The Shining in their own ways. And both stray from the source material a bit, so it’s not like one is a more purist faithful adaptation than the other. And poor Mary Lambert. It’s literally her only good movie. Lol. Let her have that win

Pet Semetary IS a classic in my book. One of the very best SK adaptations. Don't get the hate at all.

The Shining is a bloated, overlong mess with some of Jack Nicholson's most ridiculous acting. I still like it, but it gets far more love than it deserves.

100% agree on this.

I can`t for the life of me understand why that particular movie is rated soooo high. It`s an ok thriller. It`s a good horror film, but nothing more.

It`s not even on my top 20 horror movies of all time. It`s long, it`s boring.

Not liking The Shining is like not liking cinema itself.

My opinion, I agree. The Shining is a masterpiece. But comparing it to Pet Sematary is apples and oranges. The styles of them are different. I don’t know why people have to come on here to say “this movie sucks. The Shining is better”. Not comparable in my opinion and both good movies

Lol very true. How could anyone not like The Shining? I suppose they think the TV remake was better.

I'd go as far as saying Busey as Uncle Red is probably one of my favourite performances from the 1980's

I'd also love Silver Bullet on 4K UHD Blu-ray.... Busey was brilliant in it

I'm a little too old to be playing "Hardy Boys meet Reverend Werewolf"!

It truly is.

Busey was great in that one. I always crack up when him and Haim are playing cards and he says, "that's some bulls*** luck." then swigs off the bottle of hooch.

I agree. Only thing that annoys me is the dad's scream at the end. Fairly cheesy but the overall movie was solid.

Classic BD forum situation: Movie A *must* be better than Movie B according to someone (always either/or)...and therefore Movie B should not be coming out (even from a different studio no less lol)...and gets crapped on in its own thread.
