I don't care.

They're not good outside of Marvel -- but at least their success there has allowed them to harvest talent and give us Sam Hargrave.

'Extraction' was the best action film to come out all year. And if they keep giving platforms to filmmakers like him, I'm all for it. Not to mention, 'Mosul', which features a truly foreign ensemble cast, and was really entertaining as well.

Extraction is the most overrated action film in the last ten years, easily.

and to think, they want to make a cinematic universe out of that cliche ridden drivel.

Yeah I don't care how overrated it is.

Sam Hargrave is still doing the best action sequences of any filmmaker alive right now. With a better script, we'll see what he can do.

All goes back to my original point; I don't care how the Russos act post-MCU. It's because of their success that we're getting more fresh voices in genres that sorely need it. Even 'Mosul' was a breath of fresh air.

He’s got one feature under his belt, you make it sound like he’s a veteran of the genre....

You were right about having one feature under his belt... but then you made this comment.

He is a veteran of the genre.

You know all of those amazing hand-to-hand combat sequences in films like 'The Winter Soldier', 'Civil War', and the Cap-on-Cap sequence in 'Endgame'? That's all Sam Hargrave and his team. From choreographing the action to directing it, to even starring in it (he was Chris Evans' primary stunt man).

Also, he directed most of the action in the latter half of the second season of 'The Mandalorian'.

I think it has more to do with Apple wanting to make a splash than anything specific to this movie. If Greyhound were coming out now instead of over the summer, we'd likely be seeing the same type of push for that movie. (And if Cherry is as good as Greyhound, then all the FYC campaigning will be justified.)

Hell, I just bought my mom an iPad Air for Christmas. Plus a Magic Keyboard.

You’re welcome, Apple. Spend that FYC marketing money.

It's just weird to see all this FYC marketing before the movie. I wonder when voters were able to see it (if they were)

That's some lack of using spoiler tags for repeat images just to add a one-sentence reply.

Takes all of seconds to do and saves us all a lot of unnecessary scrolling. Just sayin'.

I mean I hope this is really good, but it’s just weird we’re seeing an awards push for a film we don’t even know what tone or even genre it’s gonna take the form of.
