They are his movies. He can do with it as he pleases.

I don't understand why people keep whining and wasting energy on this subject. Enjoy the movies for crying out loud!

How can I enjoy something that has been changed from what it once was - and not for the better?

This little exchange was super funny to me for some reason.

It's a microcosm of the whole situation and it's not going to stop.

what's up with the 7.1.4 Atmos denotion? why not just release it in DTS-X (kidding) ... interesting that the bluray gets the 7.1 remix and is not the remixed 6.1 mix from the prior edition.

Disney usually put 7.1.4 on their covers, have done from the start with their first UHD release (Guardians vol.2). It's mildly amusing how some people are only just twigging this now, shows the powah of Star Wars I 'spose.

Although that particular exchange is a bit outdated.

1) They're HIS films, he can do what he wants with them (they're not anymore, he sold them to Disney)

2) I don't mind that he alters them, I just want the CHOICE! (You do have the choice-- get a thumb-drive and download Project 4K. We're way past the days of resorting to old laserdisc transfers).

Lucas doesn't have a fraction of Kershner's talent.

Kershner was technically a director-for-hire.

So? You could say the same about Spielberg with the Indiana Jones films. He's also far more talented than Lucas.

the same thing applies to "Poltergeist" - who TRULY directed that movie: Hooper or Spielberg?

The bit with the neighbours fighting with television remote controls reeks of Spielberg.

According to Hooper, Spielberg only directed the bike scene at the beginning. The whole thing is Spielbergian, though.
