Looks like the two extras from the DVD were dropped or maybe they're on there but not listed on the back cover.

^ I hope that's the case (same with The Phantom). Haven't seen 'Jack on Jake' and am going to be royally annoyed if Paramount drop the previously available extras.

I would suggest messaging them on social media and voicing your opinion. I rarely do such things but I see this new Paramount line as the last incarnation of these films on physical media so it's now or never.

I msg'd Paramount Home Entertainment on Facebook earlier today thanking them for these catalogue releases but I also expressed my opinion that they should retain all previous DVD extras including theatrical trailers, featurettes, deleted scenes, etc. Now if they don't want to ADD any extras for the blu rays, that's totally fine by me because they never existed before. But come on, don't leave off the old DVD bonus content.

That's one reason so many people have been irritated with the Paramount Presents line.

I’d imagine that it’ll drop in price on Amazon. I’ve never personally had a pre-order this early that didn’t drop at least a few bucks. The Sons of Katie Elder, also arriving on September 15, has already dropped to $9.99.

It took them long enough and thankfully the price point is lower than the prior catalog Paramount discs . It's a shame about losing the original art but I have the letterbox LD and video store poster to suffice.

Dropping the DVD featurette would be nuts as it's the one time Jack or anyone has talked about Jakes in some time.

As for the production troubles-that's what absolutely killed the film and the chances of a trilogy of sorts. Everyone got burned or pissed off and it just imploded. Towne has talked about a little, Robert Evans talked about it some in The Kid Stays in the Picture.
My hat is off to Jack for stepping up after all the fallout and doing it himself for better or worse. What's there has tons of interest just like GF3 and never manages to gel while being full of some off key bits and a far too meandering pacing.

The parallels with GF3 are numerous and I still like both films. I re-watch each one occasionally as it's own thing and not really as a true follow up.

I just hope it's not a BD-R and has a new transfer. However I'm sure this will be in the same manner as the previous catalog discs so far and be an HD upgrade of the admittedly fine 2007 DVD.

Thus far I believe these Paramount catalogue titles have all come pressed, unless you buy from Amazon which does them as BD-Rs

These are showing up on Amazon with the blu-ray logo on the cases, which makes me believe all iterations will be pressed. The other titles were part of Paramount's MOD line, and these don't seem to be.

Sucks they don't have any extras on it. But, I'm not going to complain about a movie I haven't seen and saying it doesn't have extras. Going to buy this one and will gladly return to good ol' Chinatown soon (My favorite film!)

Is it just me ? Anyone else think Blood and Wine is really under rated and deserves a blu ray release. Jacks character is such a lovable dirt bag. He did it all for Lo.

I'm with you. I own the DVD, which I would love to retire with a good Blu ray release

Love Blood and Wine. Nicholson is so good you find yourself rooting for the dirt bag. I believe that one falls under the FOX banner. Could be a long wait for a blu-ray upgrade on that one. Of course I thought that on such films like The Border, The Two Jakes and The Pledge and look where we are today.

I know the last DVD of this had a 20 minute interview with Jack about the making of the film, I’d be surprised if that wasn’t ported over.

Paramount has been dropping extras on their recent catalog discs. Only thing I can think of is they have to pay to reuse them or something because it makes little sense otherwise

I've pre-ordered it at that price, but it would be pretty sad if the interview isn't included, as Jack Nicholson interviews are like golddust. Even the commentary track that he recorded for As Good as It Gets has become a rarity due to later releases.

And I guess I'm the only one who wants a blu-ray of The Day of the Locust. I swear that film is one of the forgotten classics of the 70's!

Another really underrated movie that I would love to see make it to blu ray.

So if we order from Amazon, it won’t be pressed? Better to order from other vendors?
