Thanks AP. As you know, Ema has superlative music and cinematography, so was hoping for a good disc. MPI has US rights so doubt they will even do a blu release.

Um, no, it’s Music Box in the US, a Blu-ray is moderately likely, especially given their recent partnership with Vinegar Syndrome.

MUBI are releasing one of (if not the) best film of the year, Shiva Baby, on Blu-ray on 22nd November.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Shiva-Baby-...dp/B09BRTXJT3/

Extra is a Q&A with Emma Seligman. On the MUBI platform, the Q&A runs from 1:17:42-1:35, so this lasts 17 minutes and was held virtually.

Unfortunately it doesn't have the original short film (available on Vimeo) or the commentary from Utopia's US Blu-ray.

Cool, really liked Shiva Baby so I’ll probably pick it up.

Still need to pick up Of Body and Soul.

I've mentioned this before but the only title I currently want to get is Under the Silver Lake. Though, Border is no longer on the platform (and some of their earlier acquisitions like The Blue Room are no longer on the platform or carrying the words "A MUBI Release" - some like Baden Baden, The Son of Joseph are expired but still carry MUBI branding), so even though it's barebones it might still be worth picking up.

It will definitely be interesting years from now if the only way of accessing some of these MUBI films is through a Blu-ray.

Though, they seem to have 12 year licenses for some films like Limbo and a 15-18 month streaming window for films like Portrait of a Lady on Fire, Pain and Glory - which is why they pivoted towards the Library model (with about 800 films in the catalogue).

It’s just about the quality for me. I have become less interested in extras in recent years for some reason.

Definitely! If I didn't have a MUBI subscription right now the Blus might be a nice option. The Blus help promote MUBI subscriptions, but I'm not sure their primary target is MUBI subscribers.

I also care less about extras as there's only so much time and I don't always get around to them and you can still enjoy a film no matter what. But I find it difficult to undo my existing positions.

Would love The Miracle of the Sargasso Sea to be released on Blu-ray, just in case anyone from MUBI is reading!

Is there at least some essay or something in a booklet? Is there a booklet at all? (It's about The Image Book blu-ray.)

There's no booklet I'm afraid (I don't believe any of the Mubi releases have a booklet)

Looks like MUBI are switching to Scanavo cases judging by the New Order amazon listing.

Pretty sure First Cow is a Scanavo, and I thought On Body and Soul and Beanpole were Scanavos too, although I'm not certain on those.

I noticed this in HMV the other day. Think they must've had to switch to Scanavo, at least temporarily, much like Eureka and Arrow did (and BFI but they've mostly switched to Scanavo completely now, aside from the odd title/box set).

I like the full-front Scanavos, wish others would fully switch to them.
