Based on what I saw/compared, the Second Sight basically matched the Universal, but with better pq (and I still think the Shout is wrong and much worse). Unfortunately I don't have the caps anymore.
How was the Shout much worse?

I ended up with all three lol. But haven’t had time to compare them.

I believe Second Sight got the rights for Host through Vertigo Releasing, who distributed the film in the UK to cinemas and VOD platforms.

If the screenshots here were taken properly, the blacks on the Shout also seems to have been fudged up in the encoding. Even the black bars are not pure black. I’ll have to compare them to see but given the encoding was done by David M on the Second Sight release (if I remember correctly), I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the best version so far.

I don't know what screenshots you're looking at, but there's nothing wrong with the blacks (or the black bars, which are, pure black) on the Shout release.

Like I said, if they were taken properly, then the black levels are screwed up on the Shout release.

Those shots are not taken properly, they are using the wrong color space.

You can compare proper shots on caps-a-holic, where Shout's blacks are fine:

What a great interview with Liv Tyler on the Second Sight release!
Ditto the interview with the editor, lots of really interesting stuff.
Weird that the celebrated trailer isn’t included on this release (even though a clip is shown in the editor’s interview)?
The included “theatrical trailer” is a really short 30 second teaser which is more like a tv spot?

How long till the standard edition of The Strangers comes out?

Also I really wish a featurette based on the masks was included, perhaps an interview with the prop maker showing off the mask in 3D for the camera? And discussing the evolution of it's design, concept art and how it was fabricated.

Regardless of seamless branching, including both the Unrated and theatrical version was a little pointless, and insulting when the Unrated reinstates 1 single scene from a plethora of cut footage which they show none of.

Pin-up screaming in Kristin's face, the footsteps on the roof, Dollface getting stabbed, the stranger's face reveal at the end, Pin-up soothing James while he bleeds out, cleaning up the mess and changing into Kristin and James clothes.

For a movie that's pretty much 1 note from start to finish, seeing this footage would've been very cathartic and elaborated on the original idea for the film.

Does anyone think this will get a 4K upgrade?

There’s a trilogy of new Strangers films shot back to back coming from Lionsgate next year, so I could certainly see Shout or Universal doing a UHD to tie in with the new ones.
