Not sure if its the same but I went to my local Fopp (who I think HMV own now?) on Monday who had not received it saying they should be getting it on Wed or Thurs

Mine arrived on Monday. I only ordered the standard version and not the limited edition.

So I emailed HMV, they haven’t responded but then I received an automated email to say my item has been dispatched.

Slightly annoyed as it looks like my order might’ve been missed...

Looking forward to watching it anyway.

I watched it tonight and you don't even have to go 2 mins into the film to realise this isn't the Manga UK dub; in that track the spider woman has an english accent and here she's american as in the US streamline dub. Pretty disappointed they didn't bother including both tracks as I prefer the Manga UK.

I actually forgot this was coming out, but HMV dispatched my copy a couple of days ago so I'm expecting it tomorrow.

This came 2 days ago. Watching Wicked City now. Looks real good. Makes me miss the craziness of anime from around 1985 to 1995. Shit got crazy unique.

I never understood why are anime movies never given much treatment when it comes to extra features? One of the biggest is Akira and it came with very little making of material. Same here.

Because there never was an emphasis on them, like, ever. Save for commentaries by the staff and seiyuu (voice actors), and interviews in the booklets of Japanese releases, extras akin to documentaries have never really been a thing.

The glue on the J card for this was an asbolutely nightmare. There's now raised bubbles on the front from where it was removed, and I did it as carefully as possible.

Otherwise, a very very nice set

It is. If you can play Region A discs, you’re far better off getting the Discotek releases, as they feature the UK dub of Wicked City (missing from Manga’s BD, even though they made that dub, lol) and presumably better compression (Discotek discs are always winners via MediaOCD encoding, but Manga’s own discs have been hit or miss... and mostly miss).

I was hoping to find a good seller without paying the crazy import taxes from the States. Double pack from Manga UK ends up costing me half the price in comparison.

I'm actually crazy enough to possibly get the UK pack and swap out the BDs for the US releases (I'm from the US so my players are region A).

Outside of one variation of the English dub is it worth the double dip? I'm not one for dubs outside of curiosity, prefer the native language.

Got myself a region free player and it's opened so many options on top of savings, would highly recommend the investment.

In my case I was thinking of double dipping for the slipbox and poster, and would resell the UK Manga movies separately.
