It's amazing the quality of downloaded movies taped at the theater nowadays. Downloaded diary of the dead way back when they only released to a very select few theaters. It's amazing how close to dvd quality the video was. Audio wasn't too great but way better than it used to be. Of course there was the occasional black head getting up to pee or whatever.

Personally I have no problem with people downloading movie to see if they like them. Me? I download quite a few movies and tv series. However, considering the number of dvds and blu-ray I own (not to mention the amount of money I dump to see stuff in the theaters), the corporations would have to be real a-holes to press charges against me. The people I have a problem with are people who think they somehow deserve to have everything for free because their mommy told them they were special.

I ask you, how do people here treat Warner and others if they use a BD25 or don't provide lossless audio?

There would be no point to purchasing a substandard HD disc. The DVD upscaled would probably be better.

Uh, no. Not even close. Not even remotely close. The only blu-ray i've seen that looked even remotely close to dvd quality is Category 7.

On topic (since it was bumped) It's human nature to "steal" from behind the guise of a computer...... Another reason media is so expensive is the costly R&D and encryption to keep people from stealing it....

Piracy drives up costs... plain and simple... but people who buy pirated movies are buying them based on the cheap price-tag.... so I'd suspect lower-resolution downloads will eliminate the market for those who pirate physical discs

I think the days of the shady guy selling DVDs outside of the liquor store are coming to an end.

I dont think that the end of bootleg dvds are coming to an end. As a matter of fact i believe that they will be selling more.

Sorry, misunderstood. I thought you were talking about warners bd25 discs.
