I think the point is….

1. It’s my money? If I spend and choose to play a certain way so be it
2. Your way works for you and that is awesome. I won’t smack talk it. Why would you?
3. Games are fun. We all enjoy things differently. And that is ok.

Your opinion my dude.

Our versions of fun are different. Just because I said I prefer by myself does not mean I only play that way. I rather enjoy Predator Hunting Grounds and that is online.

Anywho. I’m happy you find such fun online. That is awesome.

I still see people playing online only games on PS3 & Xbox 360 from my friends lists.

Shocker.

Though there is a downward spiral to online games that is enviable. As years pass, less people will engage with said game & you will have a hard time finding people to game with.

Btw, absolutely nothing to do with game servers. Most games 10 years ago that require online still function even on outdated Hardware.

If people prefer discs, I have 0 issues with that. Everyone is not you.

Discs are collector's items (compared to just a digital game at the same price) and a good backup method, as well as a way to preserve games for the future if the digital version was lost on the console. At a stable, safe temperature, a disc can last a long time.

Plus many times after the first month or so, the disc format tends to go on sale faster.

Another benefit to the disc version, you can uninstall and delete the updates if they remove content that you preferred over the update. Games like Battlefront 2 significantly changed the menu display content in a newer update compared to the older format and art.

Another Example? Biomutant on disc when played on PS4 Pro or PS5, is 4K 60 fps. The digital only game, when updated past version 1.0, downgrades the game without a choice, to 2K or less. I have full access to the 4K version thanks to the disc.

Plus discs install much faster than most people's internet download of the same digital version.

And for the sake of history, Cyberpunk on PS4 disc, reveals the severe downgrade that CD Projekt Red dumped onto the retail disc and called it a game worth $59.99. It's a reminder of the state of the game on launch before the updates or day 1 patches. It's history on that disc, considering the Cyberpunk 2077 PS4 release on December 10, 2020, was a major moment in video game history, and revealed how corrupt things can get, with CDPR only having the media post PC version reviews, forcing the PS4 reviews till days after its release.

There are many times a PS4 game is $59.99 digitally on PS Store, and being sold for $19.99 on disc.

Discs are fine for those who value discs.

The advantage to digital games? Instantly play the game without searching for a disc. A nice benefit. And sometimes Sony offers some good sales on digital games.

What a bizarre comment to make on a forum dedicated to Blu-ray Discs.

I've managed to find some lobbies of really sound guys via the Xbox's "looking for" group posts. Having a mic is absolutely necessary to this kind of game, I don't get people playing the online mode without one (unless they simply don't own one obviously).

I wish I could get a group of like minded people together for this, or Friday the 13th (hell even the Xbox 360 Ghostbusters video game has a great online component that's still hosted)

Everyone has a mic with a PS5 if you use the controller. No excuses for bad communication

I enjoy playing online with people as long as they are not constantly Darth Vadering the mic. Also, I can do without the racism.

So, when your collection is lost in a natural disaster, fire or flood, what are you going to do? I'm just going to buy another device, log in and have all my games and movies again. Discs are archaic now. Physical media is dying and you can't stop it.

You can't play Battlefront 2 online unpatched. Playing with yourself and bots offline? Sad.

Biomutant sucks. Period

You get to install a disc AND a patch. Win. (sarcasm)

You are saying a disc is better because it has a defective or incomplete version of the game on it? And you can't play it online unpatched? WTF?

Everything goes on sale digitally. Usually very cheap.

Thankfully I have a good size of digital games too, so that will help. But that's true, discs are vulnerable too, as great as they are. Thankfully the odds are low of disaster. Then again, a potential nuclear WWIII, and both disc and digital are going to suffer.

Actually, the odds of being affected by fire or a flood in your lifetime are quite high. Don't kid yourself. Don't believe me? Google it.

On topic, I haven't heard any big bugs or glitches for Evil Dead, so it sounds like it's doing well so far.

So 50% chance? I don't doubt it. I've seen it happen to people I know.
The odds of getting hit by lightning are high too, where it can fry a person and any PS5 or electrical equipment attached as well.
Keeping in mind, if a person lives in the dry desert, that reduces those flooding odds greatly. And if a person lives in a boat on the ocean, that also gives them a better chance of reducing a fire cause.

I'm ashamed to say that I suck at this game and can't even get past the first single-player mission. I did participate in an online match, but I kept bleeding out and then all four of us wound up dead.

Add me to the list. I've gotten maybe close to the end and got killed by one of those giant lumberjack looking fellas. The lack of checkpoints is brutal.

Sounds like a tough game, especially with no check points and brutal enemies.

I see that after so many scares, the scare meter peaks and then the Evil Dead can possess the living who are fearful. That's kind of cool. I wonder if there is a way you can prevent being scared in the game from the hauntings?

There is. You acquire items to level up. You can level up Fear, Mele, Health, etc.

That's good, thanks. Otherwise the characters would be at the full mercy of the demons/Evil Dead. In the films, it was mostly about the demons catching up and overtaking the character in some way, but in the game, they give the player more of a fighting chance against possession, which is good.
