Just tidied mine up using mini cable ties, always make sure the power cable to the T.V is on it's own, not sure it makes much difference although the power socket on my previous Panasonic was located on the left, whereas the LG is in the middle and has the cable hiding panel, you can't see any of it of course, but I just like it to be tidy. ![]() I have the LG OLED48C16LA 48 Last edited by jonmoz; 12-21-2021 at 10:28 PM. |

I’ve had mine for only a few days and I’ve messed around with settings from Rtings, HDTVTest, AVSForum, and even paid for Quatum TV. This thing looks amazing with streaming content but when watching film or 4K Blu Ray, its is super pixelated / grainy. I turned sharpness to 10 or even 0 and still not great at all. I tested Dune 4k (2021), True Romance 4K, and Suicide Squad 4K. All look crappy. The Vizio I replaced looked better. Am I missing something? I get film grain exists but the pixelation is so extreme its unwatchable.

His settings are great for gaming which I’m beginning see is his only focus. Pushing BT2020 does make colors pop. Animation and gaming look great but nothing is fixing this problem for me. I tried like 6 different movies and it looks horrible. I then switch to Netflix and watch this nature doc and I’m blown away. My problem is I mainly bought this TV to watch movies.

So you may want to revert the HDMI signal overriding back to “Auto” BT2020 is meant for HDR only. Edit, Forgot this info. Turn off AI Settings for Picture, Brightness etc. That introduces a ton of grain. The TV automatically adjusts contrast when these settings are turned on. Not for the better. I tried that and it does improve but still very grainy. I dont know how to explain it but it looks like people’s skin is alive in sense that the pixels are constantly moving. Nothing look like an image. I tried turning HDR off at the BR player and forcing 4K SDR but doesnt really change anything. When doing this on Interstellar 4K it makes their skin look fake. There are scenes where you have great variation in skin tone from white guy who is really tan to pale white person, to African skin. The more pale their skin tone the more unreal it looks. I switched to Alita 4k and it looks better but that movie has less grain overall. Does this TV suck for 4K Blu Ray? Is this an OLED thing? I replaced an M Series Vizio with this LG and honestly, movies look better on that screen. |

Try Filmmaker Mode. Lower SDR OLED light to 45/100. In colour, leave it at 50. In advanced colour or white balance, change whatever that is to Warm 50. If the film is HDR, try Filmmaker Mode HDR. |

go to :: general :: then devices :: from there it should be 'obvious' (my apology :: i am doing this from memory - no display in front of me - perhaps (?) 'About TV' or 'TV Info) - - - hope that this is helpful

This is one thing I've never done with any of TVs. As long as the TV is being played on a regular basis, the user shouldn't have to keep track of the hours that its being used. In the real world, who really does that? Nobody. When people by their new TVs, they take it home, and start watching it. They don't worry about how many hours it's in use because, it's not going to matter. If something goes wrong with the TV, and it's still under the manufacturers, or an extended warranty, it will be repaired or replaced, depending on the defect.

Well I found a deal I couldn't pass up and ordered a 65" C1. Almost half of what I payed for my C6 about 5 years ago!
I thought of waiting to see what the C2 improved, but... eh. It's probably going to be a lot more money, at least initially, for not that much of an improvement. Plus in 6-7 years, which is about how long I hope to keep this set before having to upgrade again, who knows what the technology will be like. |

Love the aggressive closeout prices on LG's C1 OLED TVs!
65" C2 will launch at $2,499, all in and delivered. |

55" C1 I've had since November, 2021. Love it except one thing: I want it to start at the home screen and only the home screen when you power it on.
Instead, it always seems to start at some random HDMI input or app. Even when I hit the home button, it takes a few tries for it to "take." What is set incorrectly? I've set it to Home Auto Launce, but is the setting actually the reverse of what it says? |
