I'm not sure I call the 360 an amazing gaming console, it's a good gaming console with some good and amazing games but console itself is not amazing because of the high failure rate.

All consoles can be a Satisfaction to gamers, it all depends on what games you like to play.

Anyone who says the 360 is an "Amazing console" is delusional. The 360 is unreliable, and overpriced. You should admit that the 360 is a POS. Its got decent games, but anything with a 33% or greater defect rate = POS.

1.2 billion dollars.... to extend the 360s warranty specifically for the RROD for 3 years. When they announced that... the issue was supposidly fixed, and they had shipped 12-13 million 360s.

How much do you think it costs to repair an RROD 360?
$100 = 12 million repairs out of 12-13 million 360s
$200 = 6 million repairs out of 12-13 million 360s
$300 = 4 million repairs out of 12-13 million 360s

I havent heard of most of them. But I am sure the Halos will be bought up.... Heck people bought those darn helmets for $130. I do want Ninja Gaiden though, but still, I doubt its going to be out this year.

Well, I'm not sure if Ninja Gaiden II will be out this year either. For now it's saying 2008, so it goes on the list you ask for of Highly anticipated NON-FPS XBOX 360 exclusive games for this year.

i love these threads because people always bring up the fact that the 360 is unreliable, nobody is denying that. but the ps2 was almost as unreliable (they did fix the problem by introducing the slim tho, but it too had a few problems from the start), and its the best selling console..ever? obviously its about the games, and up until now..the 360 has the games, the ps3 doesn't. thats all changing lately tho. and i'm glad. makes for good competition all around

i agree with op on soem points. xbox had some good games or at least popular games out early.

but I dont know why these xbox fanboy's keep thinking that mgs and FF will be out on the 360 after their developers and publishers have stated many many many many many many times over that they will not. I never see ps3 fans cry about halo3 or gears on the ps3, but these guys want OUR games.

and true enough the 360 sold more units, but the ps3 will continuously developt into a better and better system where as the 360 is gonna flatline pretty soon in terms of capabilities. So what that means is that sure microsoft had their glory year, but the ps3 will continue to grow and grow and grow just like they planned, just like the ps2 and ps did.

In the end i tell everyone just let it play out cus your well worded thoughts while valid in your eyes, everyone will see it differently and know one ****in knows whats gonna happen.

i wonder the same thing. final fantasy will stay on the ps3. mgs is the more likely of the 2 to go multi, but the chances of that are really slim. they said it'd have to sell well to stay ps3 only, and it will sell plenty well enough

when you can get real proof of the 360 having a 33% failure rate i'll come up with a ps2 stat. because all we have are what "retailers" are saying and rumors from "microsoft employees"

In July, MSFT took a 1.2 billion dollar charge off to extend the RROD warranty of the 12-13 million xbox360s that had been shipped.

Supposidly the problem was "Resolved" by this point. So Quick math will tell you that the failure rate is "PRETTY BAD"

How much do you think it costs MSFT to repair an RROD xbox360?

MSFT sells xbox 360 Core's for $279
Microcenter Sells Refurb 360s for $229.

Its likely a repair on a 360 costs less than $229.... The math points to an expected failure rate of around 6 million or more over the next 3 years, out of 12-13 million shipped when the problem was "resolved".

The PS2 may had issues when it was released... but nothing like this. This is ridiculous.
