Indeed. Her more mainstream exposure from this stuff is great but it's right in her wheelhouse from previous and current work she's done. She's got an eclectic resume that really shows how diverse she is. Add in that she's a very unique look among her generation, and others too. Mia Goth... is Mia Goth. And she's pretty dang good at her job, good for her.

I'll preface this by saying that I rank CASABLANCA as the greatest film of all time. I would only screen it in it's OAR and it is a perfect movie... but I'm embarrassed to admit that I often downgrade more modern movies when the director chooses a 4x3 AR.

I know, I know that STORY is key and that a film maker should shoot in what narratively makes sense to them...and that it shouldn't matter...but it does to me. Although I have matting for every ratio from 4x3 to 2.40:1, I prefer the wider ratios. I somehow feel them to be more cinematic and more of a differentiation from television, or made for TV fare.

I loved both X and PEARL (and the ratios TI chose to emulate TCM and OKLAHOMA!) and am super excited for MAXXXINE. Honestly, as much as I'm loathed to admit it, Ti should probably "film" this on 480i VHS or maybe better quality BETAMAX (in 4x3 AR) in keeping with his thematic approach in the series..

What do you mean downgrade? How can one downgrade something that is a on disc or streaming? You put it on a old TV or somehow filter the image?

Really curious what angle or perspective this one's gonna have. Personally, I really hope it goes full bore into how Hollywood and the sex industry chews people up and spits them out, using and abusing them. Go hard into the debauched and decadent. I mean, Maxine's pretty clearly a hooker here, or at least an actress playing one. Maybe she's both? Regardless, this has the potential to be a special movie and trilogy.

I can't wait!

X and Pearl released within 7 months apart. I just cant see the 3rd film,Maxxxine, releasing in 2024. I think it will be announced any day now, for theatrical release of October of this year at the latest.
