After conversing with OldPangYau he reminded me that Criterion may hold streaming rights to The Young Master but that's as far as it goes. Not the same as distribution rights so who knows who has the US rights to The Young Master.

88 has put out a few Jackie Films, im glad to see Shout jumping in to help get these out, Jackie has a ton of movies.

"A few"? Actually, 88 Films has released over 20 Jackie Chan titles to Blu-ray. Until recently, they were all Region 2, but now they've expanded to putting out some Chan films in the USA too as Region 1 discs.

I am curious to see what Shout has in store for the Region 1 only collectors.

Whelp looks like I'm purchasing now.

A person who worked on the set confirmed that there would be new extras and that these sets were not simple ports of the 88 Films.

New extras is enough for me to bite.

So, considering this isn't even fully officially announced yet, I can barely say anything, lol. But the titles in question I tried my best to assist/guide where I could in various ways... I'll be able to explain more in the coming weeks as things become more official, lol.

Agreed. I returned their Chan double features from a few years ago after seeing the reviews. They seem to half-ass these kind of titles compared to how other labels handle them.

Since all the 4 from the first 88Films releases that were due rereleases are in there. Im wondering if 88 will still rerelease all of these now without Brandon. Or is Snake & Crane Arts of Shaolin the only one we will get now?

I wonder if the rights are with someone else in the US now. 88 released it in the UK, and it's not like SF couldn't do anything with the masters.

Magnificent Bodyguards doesn't have a BD in the UK, though it looks like there was one in Japan. Maybe that one doesn't have sufficient materials?

This, along with the Shaw set, the Angela Mao films, it's getting pretty crazy for some classic Kung Fu movies and I love it!!
