Erm, no they haven't - I actually asked the question there yesterday and all responses confirmed they are Hi-Res Lossless only. You are listening to stereo being upmixed by your AVR into Dolby Atmos, nothing strange at all about elements moving about the Atmos field in this manner...I do it regularly with Tool's Pneuma which sounds terrific upmixed to Atmos. It's still stereo though, lol.

Feel free to cite the post# that anyone on QQ is listening to the new Atmos mixes, given you have just cited them it shouldn't be hard to do.

Why would I apologize to anyone being as abrasive and confrontational as you, when my original post was perfectly polite and yours was evasive then nasty? i've seldom encountered such a criminal waste of Atmos' incredible spatial opportunities �� ok a couple of the spoken word bits pop up in the Heights and the synthy bits towards the end of Brain Damage unconvincingly waft about up there a bit but mostly its a lower volume level reverby wash from the Heights and so for me they add very little to nothing. sound quality is also kinda on the soft and fuzzy side, warm and Bass rich yes but i suspect the tapes are getting knackered now and they could do with a bit of help, maybe?
ugh. i'm just glad i didn't buy the box set after all �� but on the basis of these two tracks, its probably still gonna be the old Quad that does it for me.

Also lossy streaming Atmos has awful fidelity which is what fredblue is likely noticing, so the Blu-ray will not be "exactly the same" as it's DD+JOC vs TrueHD/Atmos. I've yet to listen to any DD+JOC mixes where the same mix available on Blu-ray isn't an infinitely more enjoyable listening experience.

This is why I collect Blu Rays in general. Lossy streaming audio is inferior.

I am sorry. I had no idea Apple Music would have these in a different format in the UK than elsewhere. I tried to show how to check this with screen shots that indicate what format is used. Nice diversion from the fact I WAS RIGHT.

I commented on the atmos tracks and was met with anger and called a troll.

I did nothing wrong, I stated facts only. 2 Atmos songs, and I thought they were poorly mixed.

Anyway shame the Atmos mix is a let down. I heard weeks ago it would be from somebody who had heard from somebody else who had heard it lol Inside stuff.

I wish the female vocals floated in the whole room instead of just being in stereo, what a wasted opportunity for something great.

I won't be losing any money mind you, I have plans already sorted.

If I had been in your position I would have either a) posted a screenshot showing "Atmos" in my Apple Music as the poster from Spain at QQ had done, or linked to fredblue's post on QQ (the one I copied before Homer's link) showing others have been previewing it. But I'm not evasive when I post, I prefer to be detailed. You don't seem to realize that Atmos upmixing allows the exact type of effects you mentioned above in terms of directionality and you listen to Atmos in PURE DIRECT mode (negating room correction and eq'ing), all of this combined suggested you didn't know what you were talking about. As for trolling, I don't even need to look outside this thread where I've already had to clean up several posts of it involving you, because you chose to engage rather than report the political BS. I also have to note, it's very hard to get banned from QQ.

You were right about Atmos, but you certainly don't deserve an apology for the manner in which you responded.

Answer: one, and they’re missing one, so net zero different mixes.

But the 2023 mix is offered in several formats so it's one new mix to the max.

I listened to the 4 channel yesterday from the immersion set for the first time in a long time which was great fun while I'm waiting for this.

I want all the new mixes. I won't be subscribing to DarkSideoftheMoon+ but I love the thought of Pink Floyd releasing new remasters of old masterpieces. They can scrape this barrel for years because It will be a long time before I have had enough.

Ready to pre order the Wall box in 2029! (It better have multi channel tho)
