It's always the same. People complaining about franchises, remakes, reboots, then throwing out the bucks to hate-watch them and complain online how much they suck, while completely ignoring any original movie that gets made.
Please list GOOD, original content then. I try to see what original or truly new I can when warranted but no, I wont support "new" crap just to try and stick it to remakes.

I agree that the initial reaction to this stuff is a tad over dramatic usually. I get it - I get irritated with this shit too. But really. This is what they come up with?

The ****? 2022 was a pretty good year for original movies:

- The Banshees of Insherin
- The Menu
- Nope
- The Fabelmans
- Everything Everywhere All At Once
- Bullet Train
- The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent
- Barbarian
- See How They Run
- The Northman

come to mind, among the stuff I've seen.

P.S.: Personally, I do not watch anything to stick it to something else. I love movies, have a fairly open mind and watch what looks interesting to me. A lot of the behavior I see online is just self important chest beating from a bunch of nihilistic nerds who love to complain 24/7 and rarely take the time to actually make up their own opinion based on the actual movies. And it's sad.

Thanks and agrees with every sad sack, agenda driven shit post. Sucks up to the authors. Then claims to be irritated by it.

Strange behavior. Almost like grandstanding some sort of agenda, counter-agenda, or just a populist dipshit "critique".
I am not stopping them from making a remake.

But I do think it is probably a bad idea.

Pretty much every year has been great for original films, people just don’t bother with them, especially the ones complain about sequels, remakes and reboots.

Do you intend to watch it?

Just thinking it's a bad idea wasn't what I was referring to as strong opposition, by the way.

Saw three of those in the list. I wont see something if the subject material doesnt interest me though. Ive filtered down the "watch" lists as life gets too short to just watch something you have no interest in.

I have plenty of my opinions and so do most people. No idea what that comment is all about. Yes, pre-judging films is a thing.

Opinions should be well-founded.

"Well-founded"? Oh - you mean: "Opinions should match what my opinion is and/or be based on sources or data that I approve of".

Trust me, I will not be doing any "hate-watching." You don't know me. If you did, you'd know I dislike most of the "original" movies Hollywood makes too.
