I'm so glad I went with the steelbook here. I remember some complaining about it when it was first announced and so I looked it over several times and thankfully wasn't seeing what they were seeing. This is indeed thing of beauty, and I'm looking forward to watching it either tonight or tomorrow night.

Who the hell would by the US release when the UK release is superior in every way.

I mean I guess you COULD say the colors don't represent the colors seen in the film but this steel's art is magnificent. I'm always a sucker for a textless image only steelbook and StudioCanal has done several of them I am weak for, this and 'Don't Look Now' to name a few. Like this steel, for me, evokes peace and beauty, which is great because none of that is present in the scene it's depicting and I love it for that.

The Studio Canal release is worth it for the three cuts alone. I also never thought I’d love a purple steelbook but it is freaking stunning!

Personally I don’t like title less steels. The artwork on this one is lovely, but the front is unfortunate if you’ve not seen the movie before.

Do people prefer this over the previous gold steel?

Agreed. That steel is an absolute stunner. In fact I'd go so far as to say it's one of the nicest I now own. In the hand, it really is quite exceptional - with a beautiful, sorta chrome, shimmer. Between it and the lavish box set, it feels like a bit of an event! A terrific job from Studio Canal here

I posted this in the International thread but figured I should add it here as well. Curious how it will go & the more votes the better!

I made a poll to see what everyone preferred when it comes to their favorite cut. Feel free to vote.

I know it's been shown many times already. But once more can't hurt any...

Just to be sure; the steelbook is not part of the bigger set, correct?
Hate it when they do that. Can't choose :/

Correct, the SteelBook is not part of the bigger set...that has a fold-out digipak in it. You can only buy the SteelBook separately.

Does anyone know if the French version of this steelbook is the same as the one from the UK?

I got the big box, it is too big for me. I am tempted to go for the SteelBook but then I am guessing Studio Canal will probably do a standard Vintage Classics release like they did for Elephant Man and Ladykillers. I'd rather have that.

Still available at Diabolik and Orbit. The latter is also showing the box set as well.

UK steelbook is still available at Grindhouse Video. They have the box set, too.

The US Best Buy Lionsgate steelbook is absolutely stunning. It has the great new artwork from the box set and is inexpensive.

I picked up both the US and UK Steelbooks.
