so at this point I think I'm just going to have to keep the scratched one I received from Amazon but it doesn't look like I'll get a replacement from them or be able to buy one anywhere else.

The only dinged steelbooks I ever got were from Best Buy.
(And I'm including worldwide orders and 2000 steelbooks)

What was nice about Best Buy is once you got your dinged or slashed steelbook in the mail you could quickly place a pick up order as a backup. When Bull Shit, I mean Bull Moose, cancels your pre-order after the release date you’re pretty much ****ed.

Yes- that was convenient. (But sometimes they were oos)
I have never actually ordered from Bullmoose. I was always leery of their wording on the site: "We will try to get this for you" (or something like that)

Yeah they didn't try very hard on this one. They took almost a year to ship me a new release CD. Why didn't they cancel that too? I figure they cancelled my order because they don't want to pay the shipping just in case they do get it back in stock.

I keep trying to find a copy on ebay, but I don't want to spend over $55 total. I knew that I should have preordered.

You never know- but HEAT never got a reprint, and DUNE 2 seems long gone now.

Dune 2 was released less than two weeks ago. Reprints are generally an entire new run of production than can come as much as six months to a year or even longer after the original release date. If this or dune 2 come back next year I would not be surprised.

Unfortunately- many of these never get reprints.
And there doesn't seem to be any specific rhyme or reason for the ones that do.

I just wound up getting the regular 4K version. I also have the Blu-ray steelbook and I can always just put the regular 4K in that steelbook if I want. Hoping though for a restock or reprint of this one at some point.

I managed to get an order in on Amazon last week when it looked like they were restocking, but there's been no movement on a shipping date for the order and it's now unavailable to order again.

What's the chances this actually get's shipped out by Amazon?
