Amazed at the comments about the music, most people on here dump on Leonard Rosenman every chance they get (not being contrary, as I really like his score for Robo 2, just find it odd).

The biggest problem with Robo 2 are all the dead end subplots, and also making Robo be stupid for a large portion of the movie.

A lot of time is wasted on this, only getting back on track at the halfway point of the movie.

His score for Star Trek IV is so horribly bad. I'm not too familiar with his work, but I would think that any composer would try and do better for a Trek film.

The score for 2 has grown on me over the years. Nothing will match Basils score but I like the score for 2 the more I watch it.

Really? I don't know Rosenman by name like I would Basil but I think he did a great job here having a similar vibe but not being a simple retread of the first film. The Robo vs. Cain theme for example is great, and I listen to the end credits often. I need to pick up the soundtrack LP sometime.

What do people not like about this movie's music or his music in general?

I'll let them explain, if they appear.

Woo-hoo!

Now that this is coming in 4K, I might have to bite and grab it alongside the original.

It's such a nasty little thing, this movie. So good.

Bad how? I love the "Rosenman Sound" (his scores for so many Sci Fi and Horror films are absolute classics) so I'm not the best person to ask, but I'm really interested what your issue with it is. Is it the contemporary jazz stuff interspersed throughout the 'modern day' sequences? Curious...

I like his RoboCop 2 score for most of the reasons others seem to hate it -- It embraces the absurdity of the premise and takes to another level. The "Ro-Bo-COP!" chorus, IMO, is sublime.

Saw this one in the theater 8 times. Love it. I wonder if they teamed up with the makers of Robodoc, to include some of the documentary, like was done with Hellraiser and Fright Night.

For me the score is my least favorite part of the movie. It just lacks any electricity or power, like Basil Poledouris’ score has.

Well this is awesome news to start my day. Kinda hoping we could get a steelbook to match the original, but I'll take this however it is.

Good times.

The theme alone is a joke. Is it a Star Trek movie or a Christmas jingle?

And "Chekov's Run"? Come on....

Sometimes a score can escalate a film, sometimes....not.

My friends have been torturing me about when they thought we'd get a 4K of this. The DV/HDR is going to be superb.

And it won't even run down your battery!

Is there any information as to whether the source used here was an interpositive or the camera negative? Does the 4K restoration come from MGM or Shout Factory?

Yeah, that's a great choice on their part. But I hope they keep this visual for the reversible cover:
