I think every NA home video release has been the unrated cut.

The Amazon listing is saying 109m and the slipback is saying R but it's very difficult to see if it's listing 109 or 111.
The slipback image is very low quality, could be a temp. Red (and blue) become difficult to read when they go through image compression. TBC

Cliff from Lionsgate confirmed it's the R rated version, not the unrated.

I wonder if they can at least consider including a remastered blu-ray which can have both cuts (using the older HD inserts for the unrated shots). The older BD was not the best even for its time, using an MPEG-2 encode and a not fully lossless audio track.

I could see if Lionsgate never released an unrated version before. But they did on DVD and Blu for Devils Rejects.

Either have it 99% in 4k with the unrated scenes restored to the best possible of what's available.

Or don't release the 4k at all.

Looking forward to finally seeing the theatrical cut. Was just checking out the differences at that movie-censorship site; had no idea how many small changes there are between the two. (The IMDb says merely "longer motel scene" which doesn't quite state it.)

Honestly, if the MC info is to be believed, trying to reassemble the director's cut could've been a serious pain, depending on the availability of the materials: 57 changes, many of them alternate shots, slightly longer shots, different takes.

I'd have preferred both versions, but I'll happily pay for this on 4K.
