On a side note, is anyone still waiting for their copy to ship?
I can't believe I placed an early order (apparently one of the first 50 orders), and my copy still hasn't shipped, especially since they are shipping for at least a couple of weeks now.
The email from Hammer stated "An original Four Sided Triangle press book—straight from the Hammer archive". Its condition seems consistent with books and magazine I have from the fifties.

I got my 4K from Hammer a couple of weeks ago. I suggest get in touch with them.

Thanks.

Yeah, I already reached out to them last week, they said they were taking a look at it, but my order remains unshipped.

On a side note: what are you using to store that press book/sheet?

I'm just keeping it in the card backed envelope at the moment. Not sure if there is a special way to store these.

I got the same as you, a reproduction. Some people quick off the block managed to snag an original. This is more ridiculous marketing nonsense by Hammer. All it does is piss off other customers who’ve missed out.

What next? The first 10 orders to receive Draculas ring and a test tube of dried blood courtesy of Roy Kinnear?

Just picked up my copy from HMV. (Only ordered it a few days ago). They are selling a poster for Quatermass, could this be the next 4k after Shatter?

The AR for Quatermass will be interesting (it's a when, not an if they'll do a 4K IMO), given their blog last decade where they were adamant it should be 1.37:1, when it's clearly safe for matting (Kino has it 1.66:1, but even that leaves headroom for 1.75:1 or 1.85:1).

That answers my question!

Nice to see a choice of 2 widescreen ratios. If only to prove once and for all this one really was shot safe for 1.85:1 matting.

Clearly their position has shifted from their absolute 1.37:1 stance. Even if I still don't quite agree with their use of wording to describe open matte versions.

It baffles me how anyone can heap any form of praise on the 5.1 remix. One of the worst faux-remixes I've heard.

If this is the best they can manage without original elements, I don't know why they bother. Put the budget into making the mono the best as they can, and save the bells and whistles remixes for the films that do justify it.

My reaction to this remix it likely coloured by how good the Atmos remix on Kronos was. I was shocked a company who would do such a strong remix on their premiere release in this line would consider the 5.1 on FST acceptable.

I managed to bag a copy of the LE for £17.99 and I have to confess I'm so impressed by the package, it's gotten me reconsidering my stance on the Quatermass LE sets- up to now I've been waiting for the standard editions, but the quality of the FST LE really is giving me pause on that.

So grabbing this set so cheap might actually prove expensive for me after all...

All studios, of pretty much any size, should really now have the ability to de-mix and re-mix from there.
