Don't forget you have to buy 2 or 3 copies of the Curzon one to get all the cards.

What if I told you that you don't need tat to enjoy the movie?

My Curzon copy just arrived from Orbit. Not opening it yet. Wonder if this is a potential error that will be addressed by Curzon with a replacement program, or if I need to return it and play the game of "Will Criterion be better? Eh, depends".

You are the best person to know, if you have time I'm trying to confirm if the shorts can be enjoyed by English speakers, dub/ subtitle or other? I believe there to be a director interview as well, is this English Friendly, if it is in what way please. Many thanks to you

I will have a look I just bought it when I saw the Curzon comparison I didn't even check extras and it looks great (I thought there may have been some compression artifacts on one scene but also need to check again - it was the part with the cat climbing the cat statue at the start)

I will have a look and get back to you

Both my Curzon and CG Entertainment editions arrived today.

In a couple of months I can add the Criterion edition.

I saw the Curzon in HMV today - the packaging itself looks really nice
Edit to add and the film itself I thought was fantastic.

Just checked on the blu ray

1.interview with director has English subs and is also in English

2. There is another animated short no language so no need for subtitles I think it is called Aqua.

3. Another animated short no language again. This is called Priorities.

The other extras are a gallery and trailer and one rejigged scene from the movie but involves an Oscar

Hope this helps

The last one might been one of the two or three memey animations that the director made for social media after the Oscars. That's a lovely extra. I wish the Criterion had it as well.

The Oscar bit was uploaded to the director's youtube channel.

Your time and hard work is indeed apreciated, thtank you.
In my experience some times when local distributors are involved extras like those only have the local language.
I'll be ordering soon, once again thank you

Just out of interest I also watched the Curzon streaming version on Prime today. It seemed too dark for me in parts like the contrast was too high.

There may be another noticeable difference between the Italian and U.K. 4K versions.

The movie appears to have an application of synthetic/digital film grain. To me, the grain is more prominent in the U.K. release versus the Italian. It may be that some DNR has been applied to the Italian version?

I've only watched a few of the opening scenes from the film. The U.K. version is a bit too high contrast, resulting in noticeable black crush in darker regions. The mids look fine. Highlights might be a tiny bit washed out but nothing too objectionable there.

The Italian release looks great, although again I think the digital film grain has been dialed back.

It'll be interesting to see what Criterion's grading and encode looks like.
