Oooh this looks very classy indeed. Love the overall design aesthetic. I've also loved all Studio Canal's cover art for their previous BD releases of these titles, especially MOTOE.

A release like this is absolute catnip to me as these are beloved titles that have high rewatch value (Mirror Crack'd included). Can't see myself waiting for Kino's, plus this is affordably priced enough that it'll be cheaper per title for me than Kino's singles. The only thing that's staying my hand on a pre-order is the possible absence of HDR. But even without I'm very tempted....

Pre Ordered the box set. I always knew I'd upgrade these films, if they were ever released on 4k, and I love the
art deco artwork, which is in keeping with the films time period. So why wait. I can't see it selling out soon, but who knows? Death On The Nile has always been my favourite.

Have ordered Nile and Evil: love these films (big fan of Ustinov’s Poirot) and always watch them when they’re shown on TV despite knowing who the murderers are! I have been on several Nile cruises myself and have visited all of the locations.

It's all for nothing. We all know parents lets their kids do whatever and watch whatever. The number of times I've seen children below 10 years old out at night past mightnight alone without supervision, let alone with phones and internet access... who are we trying to fool here? Yes the studio need to protect themselves against this stupid law that nobody observes anyway.
Also if Germany can allow these to be stickers, or having reversible sleeves, why can't everyone do the same?

I already got 2 out of the 5 via Kino. Suppose I will just wait for Kino to release the other 3.

StudioCanal definitely has a fondness of doing digipacks within their Limited Edition Box Sets.

Checked out on this site, this Agatha Christie Collection will be StudioCanals FIRST EVER Limited Edition Box Set on 4K containing more than one film. All their previous 4K Limited Edition Box Set have only had a single film in them. (Multiple discs, though).

My guess is the Box sets on 4K and blu-ray respectively, will have a digipack and not four separate keepcases.

I enjoyed Endless Night quite a bit myself---enough so that I bought two copies, because the extras were different on each release. In addition, it has a Bernard Herrmann score---a huge plus.

Ordered the 5-movie 4K from FNAC, $110 shipped to the US is pretty solid and I'd rather have Endless Night than not, even if the booklet is in French. I agree tonally and otherwise it's an odd duck with the other Christie films pretty much but it's entertaining if accepted that way.

Hopefully there will be HDR this time as the Kino SDR UHD release was barely distinguishable from the Indicator Blu-Ray.

Yes, I was coming here to post this. It was priced at 80, now it's at 49.99. Talk about pre order price guarantee! the 4K and the Blu-ray are exactly at the same price. Which is very nice, but also a little suspect. I mean, I'll take it, but I have questions. Why? would be the first one.

It looks like a mistake which they may, or may not, honour.

My pre-order already reflects the new price, so I think they're honoring it.

Don’t order much from Amazon nowadays, especially preorders, but that’s quite a saving on something I was highly tempted by. 30 quid cheaper? That’ll do.

Now wouldn't it be swell if Warner Archive were to give us a BD box set of the Margaret Rutherford Marples?

Amazon have mispriced a few pre-orders recently:

Life of Chuck 4K - £14.99
Diva 4K - £14.99

and now this at £49.99

I suspect all are being erroneously matched to the standard Blu Ray price, but I'm not complaining.

If shipping to USA still too much IMO, around $85 said and done, which would be more expensive than buying all the announced domestic singles of the same transfers when released.

The Video Recording Act does not make it law to make "amazing designs", it should though

Ok I'm kidding, go read my second post on this thread and you'll understand where I'm coming from. Studio Canal is definitely overdoing it compared to other distributor -- 3 to 4 sides of the product covered with permanent ratings.

And here is a video to visualise the situation:

Edit: can't seem to add links. Search on YouTube: "Hitchcock - The Beginning Blu-ray Boxset - Review + Unboxing" by Boutique Blu-rays with Elliot Coen, skip to 6m30s for packaging.

J-Cards and reversible sleeves aren't illegal but the majors seem to view them like Superman views Kryptonite.

You'd think they'd look at the boutiques and learn but no.

Price still hasn't changed. If they meant to do it, I have to ask why. Is some other store selling it at this price? Do they know something about the quality of the transfers we don't? Is the package flimsy cardboard crap? Still, it's hard to argue with this price, it'll go quickly.
