The only time I would buy anything wrestling related on Blu ray is IF they, the WWE, would release Hulk Hogan's matches on Blu ray. Ever since he left the game I lost all interest. But I still do watch it from time to time like when the Undertaker or Triple H are on the show.

Nothing prior to Wrestlemania 25 except a few episodes of RAW and Smackdown are in HD, there's no point.

But most of Hogans matches were shot in 480i with very old cameras from back in the day. Not much benefit would be seen on Blu. Only advantage is having all of his matches on one or a few Blu-ray discs.

Yet he knows all the wrestlers and moves. Interesting.

The same can be said about older movies.

I don't know of many older movies that were filmed on 480i videotape.

I just isn't that all interesting, cause even those hd shot wresletmania blu-ray don't look that good, is look exactly like 1080i tv broadcast, almost no picture improvement, and sound is remain dolby digital.

Default Wrestlemania 25 Blu-ray

In terms of video quality, I think the blu-ray version of WM25 is slightly better than the broadcast version. Think about it, broadcast signals vs physical media. You choose.

I think, broadcast HD is limited to 1080i. Blu-ray can do 1080p. This is significantly better than 1080i for action sequences. So, blu-ray can be better than broadcast TV. I am not sure whether this disk is recorded/encoded at 1080p or i.

I'm pretty sure the content is recorded in 1080i, same as broadcast.

It is still 1080i on the Blu-ray. Depending on the capabilities of your blu-ray player's and T.V's de-interlacing when outputting in 1080p or 720(which I do), the video is different.

What? Don't you mean since Ric Flair retired you lost all interest? A leg drop as compared to the figure four by the dirtiest player in the business? Sorry I just can't help myself. 4 Horsemen - 4 Ever... No other group can match the original. Often imitated but never duplicated, Wwwwoooooo!!!

LOL!!!! The Four Horsemen? Man talk about back in the day. The original group with Ric leading the charge was awsome. The Flair Vs Hogan matches were classics. I miss the legends thats for sure and those 2 are the greatest of them all in my book.

seems like Wrestlemania will get the Blu-ray treatment again for this year.

I can see starting next year they will release the big 4 in Blu-ray and maybe year or so after all ppvs and compilation releases will be in blu along with standard DVD.

For action sequences, 24fps is not better than 30 or 60fps, in this case 1080/60i is better.
1080/60i=62.2 million pixels per second.
1080/30p=62.2 million pixels per second.
1080/24p=49.7 million pixels per second

They haven't even released any on DVD, except for the best of Starcade. For WCW shows/PPVs, get WWE Classics On Demand. A great on demand channel for wrestling.
