Die Welle!! I really hope that one will be region free.
I remember that we had to read the book in school and when the I heard that there will be a film, I read it again and still enjoy it a whole lot! I highly recommend this one.

Rote Baron, seems ok... if I can get it for cheap I might pick it up as well.

Not sure about Keinohhasen. With Til Schweiger movies its always a hit or miss game. I like "What to do in case of fire" and "Der Eisbaer" but also highly dislike "Maennerpension" and "One Way".

Has there been any word of that Kannibale von Rothenburg based movie with Thomas Kretschmann ?? That was supposed to be released ages ago already!

Last I checked, I don't think Keinohrhasen has English subs. Shame. I'll update you if I found out for sure.

Has anyone here watched "Der Fuchs und das Mädchen" yet? It's incredible and is an exclusive Blu release in Germany.

I think it's regionfree (http://www.bluray-disc.de/filme/aben...der-rote-baron) but I can't tell for sure, didn't check it myself.

That'll be a must have for me.

I hope it will be the extended version though or at least both via seamless branching

Really? All websites I've been to only list German subs. Thanks for the heads up. I wonder why it is region locked though. Doesn't matter, I'll be picking it up once I save enough money (Amazon.de shipping to NA is damn expensive and the exchange rate is shite).

Die Welle got pushed up to an October release, I believe. I forget the exact day. Only one German title out of all the upcoming releases in Germany.

On another note, does anyone here own The Counterfeiters? It's a very popular and highly praised German film from 2007. It just got released on BD in the US. I have mine coming in the mail.

I think that the US has as many German releases as Germany itself.
When will the German studios start to realise that DE has a big market for BD (it may be the same as UK...)? I guess they're taking it safe and only realising the really popular American films.

Gibt es wie viele Deutschen hier? Wo kauft ihr BDs? Sie sind sehr teuer überall.

I think they're taking it easy at the moment. Will take consumers a bit longer to adapt, because most hardware is still pretty expensive in Germany. My parents wanted to upgrade to a new full HD tv after I told them about Blu-rays, but my dad thinks it's still too expensive and he will hold on to his 100Mhz set for now.
Also movies price are still way too high. We pay like half in the US for most of them. Once all the big electronic expos are over and new components are coming to stores the prices for older ones will drop and I am sure in the next 2 years high def will be a bigger seller.

Blu-rays for under 20 Euros on Amazon.de

http://www.amazon.de/gp/feature.html...cId=1000215793

I am not sure which ones are region free though.

Does anyone know if Die Welle will be?? I really want to see that one. If I cannot get a hold of the BD I might have to settle for a SD DVD

Has anyone seen "Der rote Baron" yet?

I would like to know how they handled the audio.
There are several non German actors in it and I would absolutely hate if the director used some goofball voice-over talent to dub their lines!

I have it and it was excellent, shame there where no subtitles (I found it hard at times, not a fluent speaker/listener yet), get it you will not regret it.

Can someone recommend some really good german films please, I have Die Fälscher, Der Untergang (Spanish release) & Der Rote Baron any others that would be good? As you can see I like my war films LoL they don't have to be in the war genre.

Thanks, ML.

Baader Meinhof Komplex BD preorder started showing up at amazon.de. Release date is stated as july 31, 2009.

RE: Der Rote Baron: PQ is really excellent

The film itself however.... Let's just say, the story failed to capture me at any time.

Der Baader Meinhof Komplex is one I must get after reading and watching the trailer but one year is to long.

Also this is now a sticky I just noticed, wasn't like that yesterday
