I like it, but by far my favorite artwork is everyone hanging from the stalagtite (also used for soundtrack). I have a beautiful rolled one-sheet of it.

I'm still stumped why they haven't used that one yet. I agree, it's definitely the best artwork from the movie. And it would make a pretty bad ass blu-ray cover.

I know it's available in the UK but as far as the US goes, I've seen Goonies mentioned in various rumor mills for a 2009 date but nothing else. Hopefully we'll see it get annnounced sometime over the next couple of months.

the quality on the UK version is pretty good, but the special features are the same as the US dvd.

Dont understand why The Goonies has not been released in the US? As it has been out in The UK for months. I think they are holding out for next year to do a 25th anniversary edition?
No big deal for me as I have a copy of The UK release. The movie looks realy good in 1080p.And The Dolby True HD track sounds great.

No reason not to import it if you want it, IMO. I think it's something like $15 now after the conversion rate, maybe another 5 to ship.

For 20 bucks you can't go wrong.

Are there any good special features and can you play them on US players?

Look under the 'Supplements' section.

I really need to pick myself up a copy of this, soon.

The UK Blu-Ray release contains the same special features as The US DVD release I do believe?
Loved the video commentary with Richard Donner and the cast. Can some one please tell me what happen to Sean Astin thoe? He was there for the first half of The commentary but then he disapeard half way threw the movie.

He was filming Lord of the Rings at the time, and had to leave for some additional shooting.

He seemed like he did not want to be there at all.
