Ok. I think I found the problem. I played "Top Back" from T.I. and found that the mid-bass range, not mids, highs or lows, have problems. I don't really know why only the mid-bass range is having problems nor do I know what I should do. It sounds like a blown speaker at mid-bass!

Could it be something came loose? I don't want to hear it's blown because it really isn't I just don't know what to do!

I want to keep my speakers but I don't even know if my speakers are fixable. Sorry for being so impatient.

I thought that if the wire is too thick the signal from the amp will be stronger. Isn't this the premise behind Monster Cables supposedly being better? The wire structure is thicker. Forgive me if I am mis-informed.

We're talking about speaker wire. You're talking about something else.

You are. :-)

Thicker cables are capable of carrying more current, but that doesn't mean that the signal from the amp will be any stronger.

Well, I am only having problems in the mid-bass area on my right speaker. I don't know why but I am not sure that it is blown.

I suggest you take the speaker to a qualified repairman so that he can check everything out for you.

How much do you think that'll cost and where can I take it?

I'm afraid I can't give you an idea since I don't know what is broken and I have no idea of the parts price for your specific speaker.

Since I don't live in Florida, I don't really know where you can take your speakers in your area but just search the yellow pages in the "Speakers-Rebuild & Repair" section (there were two results in Tampa Bay...). Call them and explain your problem (along with the speaker model and everything) and ask how much they charge to look at it.

Another alternative would be to call your manufacturer to know where is their service center in your area. This would be the best alternative but I am not certain that Technics still service them.

On another side, some people sell their used SB-4500A for around 50-100$

By the way do you use them with the legs?

I didn't know they had legs. It'd probably cost $50 just to check it out plus repair. I might just have to buy replacements or better.
