Default Speaker Popping

Basically, there are some movies that when I turn up the volume on my Onkyo HT-R550 reciever, like The Incredibles, to around level 40 volume, my right front Technics speaker pops. I don't know if it's a reciever issue, a speaker issue, or what. It is bothering me alot though. What do you guys think is wrong?

I recently blew my left tweeter playing ID4 too loud. BD movies have such great audio that when the action revs up in a film, the increase in sound levels are like a sonic explosion. Never hook-up a 20 watt speaker to a 100 watt receiver. It'll blow at the first sound spike.

No, I didn't blow a tweeter. The speakers still work like magic. My dad gave them to me a few years ago. They're from 1974. They sound awesome. I've fixed the dust cone a few times in the last few years because of the glue coming apart. I still don't think that's the problem though.

No you're exceeding the maximum distance the speaker can travel and the surround it stopping the speaker movement...

You are correct, but its not the cone, its the backplate.

Could you explain this more? And what should I do to correct it?

I am getting annoyed at my Onkyo and Comcast DVR. I record shows like Criminal Minds, CSI/Miami/NY, Numbers, etc. Whenever I watch them I get this loud static blip. I am not sure what a pop sounds like. I do not have that problem with blu-rays or my pc. I only hear it with Comcast. I wonder if I need to have the box switched. Or is it an Onkyo problem. I would hate to damage my Bostons.

it's got to be the movie I think. Old movies sometimes have that popping noise. Sounds like a record player. Never noticed it on The Incredibles. What are the other movies?
