One Missed call is one of the worst films in history.

If you want to get a frightful film next week, you should definitely go with The Orphanage. It is in Spanish though, so you would have to watch it with subbies. Good stuff though, comes with JJ's Guarantee - very suspenseful, great jump-off-couch moments, and yet still emotional.

Bankrupt? Where did you hear that?

New Line has been folded into the WB umbrella -- but bankrupt? If anything TW bled New Line dry just as they have done to numerous other acquisitions over the decades.

The disaster with the Golden Compass is in the controversy of the story. Personally, I enjoyed the movie.

Although I have not seen both of them, I can only agree with you on One Missed Call - but I did enjoy Narnia immensely, so with that I was planning on blind buying Golden Compass. Polar Bears fight. I mean, come on.

I told you that would happen.

Order from DVD Pacific instead and you're almost guaranteed to get it early. First Knight and The Golden Compass have already shipped.

I saw the Golden Compass in theatres, and found it to be relatively entertaining and suitable for younger audiences. It diverges from the book in several places and makes it a much more straight forward action story, rather than focusing on the books indepth religious undertones.

I'll rent One Missed Call, but I definitely want to own The Golden Compass! How's the PQ/AQ on The Golden Compass?

I'm from Cali (albeit NorCal), and I still thinks she's uber sexy.

I just rented it last night and the PQ is beyond perfect and the SQ is also perfect. I would probably give the movie3/5 but hopefully it gets better with its sequels. Theres a nearby video rental/sale store at my area and he carries the high def formats and he always gets his copies really early at times even 3 weeks before its release date. He sells and rents them so if anybody lives in the brooklyn new york area let me know if you want more info.
