The max effective range on a point target (compared to area target) of an M16A2 service rifle is 600 yards (550 meters). For those that are not familiar with it, its the standard issue rifle in the Marine Corps, not a sniper rifle.

On the rifle range at the 500 yard line, with this weapon I can hit a point target in the chest 10/10 times.


You are correct about the .50 cals not being able to shoot people, thats why you have to aim for the equipment they are wearing...like their flak jacket! (FYI that is a joke)

are all very realistic and plausable movies

i know it'll never happen given what happened on September 11th but man i wish they'd rehire Harrison Ford and make Debt of Honor and Executive Orders into movies.
