This will be out on blu-ray in April 2010 just in time for the release of the remake.

The Canadian NOES is impressive to say the least. It's your example of a solid-ass 4 star transfer. Video I would rate a 4/5 (impressive), and the audio 4.5/5.

The audio is just insane. Loud, crisp, and just makes Freddy pop out of the screen.

I can give you a more in-depth review if you'd like.

Glad I have the copy. Probably the most significant Blu-ray in my collection. If the US version is going to be anything like the canadian version (or better), go ahead and pre-order with confidence.

I'm a big NOES fan, but was peeved off to find out that all DVD versions were of the USA cut R rated version. Our orginal VHS edition here in the UK was completely uncut, but our lazy UK DVD distributor couldnt be bothered to source an uncut print, even although it's no issue here. I ended up going fore the R1 DVD series box set, which is really good, bar the cuts to 1 & 5, and some shots seeming to have over-cropping/framing issues in some of the films. They upscale really well also.
I could only be prodded into buying BD if Warner/New Line have the sense to release it uncut this time. It's long overdue. Fixing the colour tint errors from the 2 disc DVD would be a wise move as well.

I don't think Warner cares that much to make it uncut with correct color timings.

Got the same issue, when Tina hit's the bed it should go SPLOSH with blood but it doesn't

Grrrr *shakes fist*

I like the entire series myself and a bluray box set would be a must buy!!
