Thanks for posting. Here's the version I purchased on the site you linked, and it also lists 109 mins. Sounds like some discs with the shorter cut intended for the US were slipped under the official HK packaging:

This is the DVD version I have: http://www.hkflix.com/xq/asp/filmID....qx/details.htm Does not say it in description, but it is the extended cut of 127 minutes.

I mentioned the 88 min listing on Amazon a couple weeks ago, and that makes absolutely zero sense, it must be a typo. Hopefully we get the full original HK version in the US release from Magnolia, but I suspect we'll get the 108 min cut they're showing in theaters here.

If they do as good a job with Warlords as they did with Red Cliff I'm all over it. For one thing it would be about $10 less than the import version.

Definitely, I pre-ordered it the day it was available, and am certain they'll do a solid job with the release. I'd just prefer the original length version of the film at the same time.

Do they intend on lowering the pre-order price anytime soon? As of now, its cheaper to buy the HK

Amazon's prices fluctuate, I picked it up for the initial $20.99

Amazon updated the listing, and according to it Magnolia is releasing the 113 minute version in the US.

Too bad. So it´s either importing the HK or wait for the extended to be released in UK. UK seems good these days with alot of asian movies released in good editions.

It's tricky regarding the HK import, see my earlier post ... I bought an HK import and am awaiting its arrival, but the seller tells me the package lists a running time of 109 minutes. Thus, it appears not all "HK import" versions are the 126 minute original version as we expect. Beware.

Blah, I'm going to hold off buying until I can get a definitive 126 min. version. Probably will have to import it from HK.

Yesasia lists a running time of 127 minutes. Then again, HKFlix lists the running time as 109 minutes for the same HK Blu-ray. It is currently selling for $28.79 from yesasia.

Good news! My HK import copy arrived today, and while the packaging lists 109 min running time, the actual disc clocks in at 126 minutes! It has the Mega Stars cover etc and everything seems in order. Will watch over the weekend and report any problems.

That would explain the difference in times from HKFlix and Yesasia listings. Right now I have the HK version in my shopping cart at Yesasia along with Flash Point and SPL (Killzone). Now, watch Dragon Dynasty come out with these Donnie Yen movies with nice transfers and extras that were on the DVD. But then again I won't count on them in the department of nice transfers.

My instinct is you would receive the original version on the disc from yesasia.com as listed, and I'd take the risk if you're comfortable after doing the research.

Dragon Dynasty did a good job with Tony Jaa's The Protector!

They certainly did. Glad for that - picked t up too at a great price. But The Killer and 36th Chamber not so good. I hear Fist of Legend got a decent transfer. So maybe it's a case of DD basically being a dice roll.

Wow, the 126 minute version of the film is a much stronger, more cohesive film than the cut version shown in the USA!

Ya think?

When you get the USA versions you are really playing with losing out on something, they love cutting these films to shreds.

I realize that, but the difference in finished product is astounding given they only cut 12-14 minutes of footage.

Easy to see how a film like Red Cliff would differ when 140 minutes are cut.
