I liked the ending in the book better.
[Show spoiler] Thinking he hears the word Hartford in the static on the radio they head off after leaving a note for any other survivors. Also the book left me with the impression that the "mist" didn't come to our world, but that a chunk of our world got sent to wherever the mist came from. By leaving the ending open the reader could decide that for themselves.

Would you prefer
[Show spoiler] that love would redeem him somehow? Or did you mean the fight sequence at the end? because I agree that was cheesy

Neville is going to be executed at the end of the novel, but instead kills himself with pills given to him by the female vampire. How is that like the alternate ending of the movie?

I would change the endings of just about every Stephen King novel that was butchered over the years.

The third Matrix Movie. Actually I thought the first movie was ended well and no sequels were needed. The Matrix Reloaded didn't even have an ending. Matrix Revolutions built up to a climax were everybody dies and everything that happened before seems pointless. That may have been the idea behind the movie, but, it seems like a "let down" ending.

Also, I would have ended Pearl Harbor after the attack. I know that wouldn't be a happy Hollywood ending, but that type of ending worked well for Tora Tora Tora.

Uh.

I'd suggest watching Matrix Revolutions again, it's not that everyone died and everything they did previously was pointless.

Did you miss the part about the war being over? No more machines headed down to kill the humans?

How about the discussion about the humans that were still in the matrix and how they were going to let the one's who wanted to go out?

Self sacrifice for a goal is admirable, and {even though I thought the movie sucked} it was well shown in Matrix Revolutions.

So, please, watch the movie again, take in what possibly has been missed.

Seriously though. The ending of the Game seemed like a tacked on hollywood ending. Like they showed it to a test audience who hated it so they filmed an addition to make everyone happy. It should have ended during the fall; fade to black, credits.
that ending was awful, and the entire movie relied on it. it's a case of going way too far for a twist to the point that it manages to be both uninteresting and ridiculous.

Armageddon

[Show spoiler]Steve Buscemi should've stayed behind and detonated the bomb instead of Bruce Willis! I mean, Buscemi was practically begging for it!

What Lies Beneath

[Show spoiler]I still can't grasp the idea of Harrison Ford being the killer in the film!

The Wicker Man (Nicolas Cage version)

Even though the movie sucked,
[Show spoiler]there should've been a sudden rainfall that would put out the fire around the Wicker Man and spared Nic Cage's life in the process!

I Am Legend - would of kept everything like the book. The book was amazing.

Casablanca - He should of stayed with her!

It couldn't have been him. He pretty much lost it and totally freaked out. He just couldn't be trusted. Especially with something that important.
