WTF? The collector's edition steelbook is dvd sized and not blu-ray sized. Not a big deal but would have been nice to keep my PS3 collection uniform.

Pre-ordered from Amazon. Not only was it in my Gold Box, but I got the 10% off with ECA, the pre-order bonus items (some boots and a ring), and $10 towards future game purchases.

So between the $20 MW2, $10 DA:O, $10 AC2, I'll have some decent game credit @ Amazon. Problem is, I've bought everything I want until next year.

Got mine from Best Buy today, the tin case is pretty sweet, but I do wish it was blu-ray sized like the earlier poster mentioned. The map is pretty slick as well. Now I just need to find time to play it!

A quick check of ebay shows them gouging it past $120 just like amazon. WTF is going on? I'm about ready to email Bioware to see if they'll sell me a damn copy.
According to bestbuy today only one city in my entire metroplex and surrounding areas received copies of the ps3 collectors edition, im not surprised when I perordered it they told me to come back wens, so they must have known they would not be getting them today.

Btw for those that are waiting or would like some extra goodies for there game, Playing Dragon Age Journeys which is Dragon Age Origins Official flash game which unlocks content for the game.

http://em.ea.com/a/hBK8OOoB7uauvB73U...Zxe9/daojrncta

When you get towards your first unlock it will ask you your EA account email to tie in your unlocks into your future copy of Dragon Age Origins.

Quote:

Unlocks.

Amulet Of the War Mage

This amulet was forged during the height of the ancient Tevinter Imperium's power, a time when entire armies would flee upon seeing a Tevinter magister stride into battle. While the name Cavellus remains engraved on its back, any memory of the magister who created it has been lost to the mists of time.
Effects

  • +5% to Fire Damage
  • +5 % to Cold Damage
  • +5% to Electrical Damage
  • +5% to Nature Damage
  • +5% to Spirit Damage
Requirements

To earn the Amulet of the War Mage in Dragon Age: Origins, you must complete Dragon Age Journeys on the hard combat difficulty setting. The difficulty setting must be set to hard for the entire play through. The combat difficulty setting is chosen after character creation.

Helm of the Deep

There is a legend amongst the dwarves of the Legion of the Dead that, three centuries ago, a commander of the Legion came across the body of a legionnaire wearing a helmet inscribed with lyrium. He took it, and died nobly... and then his body was found years later by another commander--and so forth, for generations. The helmet is said to be a sign of an honorable death for the lucky dwarf who stumbles across it.
Effects

  • +2 Constitution
  • +10 Mental Resistance
  • +10 Physical Resistance
Requirements

To earn the Helm of the Deep in Dragon Age: Origins, you must earn all five achievements in Dragon Age Journeys: The Deep Roads.

Embri's Many Pockets

Embri of Gwaren, an elven mage of limited talent who volunteered to become one of the Tranquil, proved herself a talented enchanter--if absent-minded. She kept an array of magical ingredients on her belt at all times, and eventually the belt itself became magical. Embri died of lyrium poisoning many years later, but the enchanted belt remains.
Effects

  • +5% Fire Resistance
  • +5% Cold Resistance
  • +5% Electricity Resistance
  • +5% Nature Resistance
  • +5% Spirit Resistance
Requirements

To earn Embri's Many Pockets in Dragon Age: Origins, save the Grey Warden Martine by completing The Missing Warden quest

Btw the last one is the easiest to unlock as it literally is the 2nd quest in the flash game.
I dunno if anyone knew about this so I figured I would pass it on.

OH and here's the advertisement they sent in the email, about the game and the flash game.

The EA store has now taken down the Collector's Edition of Dragon Age for PS3. I think they've just given up on our system. The only ones that will be available are the ones that are already on shelves. I'll just get the regular version.

Sad to see someone like Bioware underestimate PS3's game-selling power.

It's actually that most outlets ran out of the collector's edition through preorders, not that they aren't being sold. So if you didn't preorder, your best bet is to walk into a Gamestop or Bestbuy and see if there's an extra copy that either someone hasn't picked up in the allotted time or they just happen to have in stock.

Why must the sky always be falling, why must everything somehow be twisted to a conspiracy?

I would imagine the collectors edition is given a limited run or it wouldn't be much of a collector item..

It sounds more or less that retailers misjudged how many of each to order, for each system. You have to think the retailers have to guess how much to order what not to order...

None the less I wish you and everyone else the best of luck.

If the EA store had copies available then I would agree that it's the retailers who misjudged.

But EA put the game out. If they are out of copies then it is their fault.

I still don't think this is it in this case, it's too rampant and widespread.

I still have the theory that with the really late announcement of the PS3 release date moving up a couple weeks they didn't have time to make enough.

I would advise in any case to call first in case best buys website has been misled, this isn't the full list.. odd enough best buys website makes no mention of a 360 collectors edition at all..

Well lets all wait and see.. wait second thought im going to go to sleep.. and when I wake up we shall see what happens.. zzz.

I thought we already learned with NGS2 that dead bodies staying there was more important than better graphics and shorter loading times?

360 wins again fanboys...

Is that flash game the same story line as Origins or is it something different?

It might be a prequel, or merely a engagement of lore.
