Maybe Clint "The Man" will finally get an oscar for acting, which he deserves. He has won as best director and as producer of best picture., and was given an honorary oscar for his lifetime achievements. I would love to see him walk up on that stage and grab hold of one of those gold statues. That would "Make my day"

I saw Gran Torino when I was in Dallas for Christmas. It was really really good. Believe it or not, it has a lot of funny parts in it also. I'm not gonna give away the story, but Clint really surprised me in this one.

I'm shocked at all of the positive reviews. I saw this movie over the weekend and thought it was kind of bad. Don't get me wrong, Clint was great in it, but all of the other acting was just horrible. Toads sister was especially bad.

I think Clint himself kept this movie a float.

Arnold is close, but I saw this movie today and it was great. I almost punched the guy next to me because he complained about paying 43 dollars and this as he would say it "Ain't no Fast and Furious dawg."

Good for Clint Eastwood to make a movie like this. I will definitely be checking this one out.

Default Clint Eastwood may have saved his biggest for last.

Gran Torino projected $30 million opening!

Quote:
If Gran Torino (Warner Bros) is, as he has hinted, his final big screen acting role, he is going out on top. The 78-year-old multi-Oscar winning director has the #1 movie in America, and the biggest opening of his career.

Gran Torino, the redemptive story of a racist Korean War veteran named Walt Kowalski, has expanded to just over 2,800 playdates with an estimated $10M Friday. That puts the modestly budgeted film on target for a $30M wide opening, easily the biggest of the screen legend’s career.

ALL-TIME BEST CLINT EASTWOOD OPENINGS
- wide release –
1. Gran Torino - $30M (projected)
2. Space Cowboys - $18.09M
3. In the Line of Fire - $15.2M
4. Unforgiven - $15M
5. Absolute Power - $14.6M

Novice screenwriter Nick Schenk managed to get a copy of Gran Torino into Eastwood’s hands and the legendary actor/director/composer decided to star in and direct the movie without changing a word of dialogue. Including a spectacular platform performance over the holidays, Torino will have banked about $41M by Monday morning. Will this commercial success lift Eastwood to his third Best Actor nomination at this year’s Oscars?

I really liked this movie. Everybody was right about the acting. Little overboard in some of there scenes. But tried not to really pay attention to that. And yes people theres alot of racial language. ALOT. But lets not talk about that because this thread will get closed. Just a warning to those who don't get into that.

Oh whats the Age Range that you saw in the theater? I had 50 to 65 year olds.

Think he was talking about the ending? Plus Million Dollar Baby wasn't ll that. Bad thing about MDB was the time it came out and what was going on in the news on that same subject.

Just got back from this movie. Excellent work, I think I laughed more than I did seeing most comedies in 2008. Very excited for a good-looking Blu-Ray of this.

i thought the movie was excellent. some of the acting was pretty poor, but it didn't distract from the movie too much. it was a very funny and entertaining movie.

Best movie I've seen in a long time.
Who would've thought that a Clint Eastwood movie could be hysterical, tough, and touching?
