The picture alone deserves it's own thread!

Clint Eastwood both directs and stars as a Korean war veteran named Walt Kowalski. Best of all if the movie’s first poster is any indication, Walt Kowalski is really pissed off. It’s good when Eastwood plays pissed off. It seems Kowalski is a racist harassed by punk kids in his Detroit neighborhood, punk kids who have their eye on his prize possession: a classic car.

The first trailer for Gran Torino is due to hit theaters this weekend, in front of Changeling.

Wouldn't it be interesting to team up Clint Eastwood with Tarantino. It would be interesting to see the result.

That teaser poster is indeed making this "punk feel lucky", as well as "making my day!" (sorry). It's been awhile since I've been excited about an Eastwood flick. It appears that Clint is following in the footsteps of Sly & Harrison -- and that's not a bad thing, in this case.

This is super cool. I miss the days of a angry Eastwood. Take me back to the Dirty Harry, Rookie, Heartbreak Ridge Days. Can't wait for an actual trailer!!!!

You gotta love Heartbreak Ridge but Eastwood look pissed on that poster...look out Spike....

I'm a big Eastwood fan and looking forward to this film. But man, he does look good for a guy approaching 80 !!!!!

If the plot synopsis is correct, then Eastwood is continuing his exploration of ambiguity -- a racist is the hero of the film? Are we really supposed to root for this guy? See also: Unforgiven, A Perfect World, Mystic River, Bridges of Madison County, the third act of Million Dollar Baby, Tightrope, Honkytonk Man, White Hunter Black Heart...Eastwood is such a great presence in American films because his work stands as counterpoint to the distilled and easy cliches of so much of the American film product.
