I'm sure you'd find plenty if you googled 'philosopy of the matrix movies'. There really IS alot more to it than stuff that would be cool in a movie.

Here's a starting point:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Influen..._of_The_Matrix

There is a LOT of symbolism and hidden meanings. Even the name of the train station in Rev. is Mobil St. Mobil is an anagram of Limbo - a middle ground between two more defined states (matrix/realworld, heaven/Earth)

Hope you find something new and interesting about it if you read up.

I just read through most of that 'wiki' page, and still stand by my opinion of the Wachowski bros. I think the amount of research put into their 'inspiration/borrowing' proves even more that they are still nerdy high schoolers at heart. Watch the movies again, and this time only pay attention to how little care was put into making the dialogue feel genuine. It's as though they had great ideas, but didn't know how to write it into a movie(even though I like the movies, but I like the ideas behind them more than the actual movies themselves). I know it wouldn't have been possible for Warner Bros. to risk doing this, but I think the Matrix trilogy would have been better if it was one 4 hour movie rather than three films filled with filler.

I agree with everything that doctorsteve said. This is what the Wachowskis have said:

"Our films were never intended for a passive audience. There are enough of those kinds of films being made. We wanted our audience to have to work, to have to think, to have to actually participate in order to enjoy them."
