Wow this article is so old. Most of the titles wouldn't be on there if it was up to date.

can't be based on picture they have Bram Stokers Dracula on that list. Plus they don't have WALL-E or The Dark Knight on that list.

I have 2 out of the 50 (will probably get ZODIAC when it's released here). I don't even count those two among my best. This list is dreadful.

Such lists are pointless, they are far too subjective. I myself would never buy at least 23 of those movies and only actually own 12 of them right now.

I was really surprised that no-one has suggested the Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds Live in Radio city Blu-ray or even John Mayer Live in L.A..

I love movies as much as the next person; but sometimes there nothing like an excellent music and video combination. The progress that has been made this last year with the music videos are unbeliveable when utilizing your entire systems technology with optical and HDMI components. If you have never seen either of these may i tell you they are well worth purchasing for your collection.

Happy New Year everyone!

I have 0/50 so far. But I just started on BD right before Christmas.

It seems that few of you read the openning part of the article. It says

"So whether you've just received a Blu-ray player or PS3 for Christmas, or you're looking to boost an existing collection of discs, here are the best 50 Blu-ray discs currently out there. We've selected these titles based on the quality of the movies themselves, how well they've transferred to Blu-ray and also the variety of special features."

So their criteria was
1) Quality of movies (highly subjective)
2) the transfer to Blu-ray
3) Special features.

This is very reasonable to me.

I do own several of those titles on DVD. I have not quite figured out how to approach Blu-ray yet. My main system is still standard definition, though I have two blu-ray PQ capable systems.
