Reminds me of this from Vanilla Sky:

Quote:
[David receives his facial prosthetic]
Dr. Pomeranz: It's a helpful unit.
David: Good. Because for a minute there, I thought we were talking about
[shouts]
David: a ****ing mask!
Dr. Pomeranz: It's only a mask... if you treat it that way.
David: Oh, no. It's great. This completely takes care of Hallowe'en. But what about the other 364 days of the year?

SIGH.....that Cobra Commander is flat out f****** aweful!!!!!!!!! Why couldn't they just atleast keep the mask/look from the cartoons. This is absurd.

I Was Kind Of Worried About Joseph-gordon Levitt Playing Cobra Commander But I Just Saw Him In This Movie With Mickey Rourke Called "killshot" And I Have To Admit, I Was Impressed With Him. He Blew My Mind With That Character.

"Alright guys, we need to come up with an idea for Cobra Commander's face cover. I know the action figure and cartoon character and comic book character had a blue cloth or a helmet, but those are way too f'ing hard to replicate in a 2009 movie. Let's come up with something else that both (1) is cool, and (B) fits within our budget. I recently saw "Silence of the Lambs," so check that out for some ideas maybe. Besides that, we're totally screwed."

Default G.I.JOE is now G.I.JUNK

Growing up in the 80's I was a huge G.I.JOE fan collecting the toys and comics, tv toy and comic commercials were awesome ( I believe those were the first ever comic commercials for any of marvel comics) and when the cartoons finally were released back in 1983, the 5 part mini series of the mass device I was in heaven, back then so much hard work was put into the toons, great animation, awesome voices that fit the characters, michael bell as duke, chris latta as cobra commander and so forth, really great times and dedication was put into those toons, and the rest of the franchise, the sequel, the revenge of cobra just added more fuel to a already hot item for me and millions of kids around the world, hasbro was on a roll.

in 1985 the series debut alone with numerous awesome toons, transformers, voltron, he-man, thundercats, silverhawks, damn, I miss those days.

now after 26/27 years after the release of the original 1980's g.i.joe line a movie will be coming out, finally.

last year I heard that a movie is in the works, really great news, thinking hopefully they won't screw it up.

but of coarse I seen the cast.........oh no!!!

WHY!!!!

I could tell this movie was headed for self destruction, marlon waynes as ripcord?....are they blind, hello the character is white.

destro with no mask, are you nuts thats his character, destro isn't destro without a mask.

why is the guy playing duke look like he got out of junior highschool, he should have been played by Neal McDonough or dolph ludgren, seriously.

cobra commander should have been played by william defoe not Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Arnold Vosloo as zartan?...wtf!....he is wearing a three piece suit, google it.

why is it that super heroes and this new g.i.joe movie everyone is dressed ln black leather/rubber outfits?....is this sigma 6 or the rise of cobra?

I saw the cobra troopers and cobra commander costumes for the new movie, its garbage, reminds me of the storm troopers wannabes of masters of the universe movie with dolph ludgren.

one of the reasons g.i.joe was such a big hit back in the 80's was their outfits, masks, weapons and gear, unfortunitly this is not the case in the 2009 movie.

Ray park and Sienna Miller are the only ones who look the part, ummm maybe the guy playing storm shadow too.

ok, Dennis Quaid you know what I ain't mad, I could accept him also as general hawk, Saïd Taghmaoui as breaker was also way missed cast.

the rest was just a hugh horrible miss cast, rush job you name it.

I saw the trailer and I was pissed, it looks like a new version of a power rangers movie with snake-eyes, c'mon now after so many years this is what we get?

this movie should have been directed by ridley scott ( what a great job he did with blackhawk down) or (gulp) don't kill me now ....michael bay, why?

because if you look at alot of his past movies, he uses alot of military elements in his work, alot.

even though he probably would have use nick cage as duke, oh god!

I just don't get why hollywood just can't make a movie like the toon, why do they change the characters, story, and line up?

can't for once someone make a movie based on a cartoon exactly like the original source, why is it so hard?

I know this movie is junk, I'll skip it, I rather see the original 80's toons done by sunbow at least they got it right, sure they had there cheesy episodes but what toon doesn't.

thank you mr.summors for ruining a great childhood toon, moron.

its a damn shame.

Neal McDonough would have been awesome as Duke.

Based on a lesson I learned from my mother, this is the part where I choose not to say anything at all about this movie.

Isn't this film supposed to be a triliogy?

Maybe the people in charge will save the blue mask for Cobra Commander in the 2nd or 3rd film.

It would be a shame if the 1st flopped to the point that the next 2 films get cancelled. Wouldn't want that to happen, right?

Finally, a great tv show is made into a film.
