The ultimate romantic comedy is WHEN HARRY MET SALLY

It's such a wonderfully witty, and heartfelt film.
One of my faves. I love it. Only Meg's crying scene seems terribly out of place, and is really phony IMO. Billy Crystal is brilliant in it! LOVE IT!

Annie Hall (Woody Allen) is excellent as well

Crazy, Stupid, Love is a worthy contestant.

What's Up, Doc? is another brilliant rom-com. Barbara Streisand is adorable in it.

I guess Wedding Crashers falls into this category.

The Mask (Jim Carrey) somewhat fits your description too.

Music and Lyrics is pretty funny too, although nothing extraordinary.

I'm not a big fan of romantic comedies, but the only one that like is the original The Goodbye Girl starring Richard Dreyfuss and Marsha Mason. This was one of my mother's favorite movies before she passed away! Every time I watch it, I become emotional just thinking about her. She loved The Goodbye Girl!

When Harry met Sally is the only one i can recommend. most of them just come across as lame movies in general.

When Harry met Sally.
Woody Allen makes great romantic comedies.
Classic Katharine Hepburn movies like Bringing up Baby and The Philadelphia Story.

I love The Princess Bride. But I never thought of it as a romantic comedy. More Romantic Adventure or Romantic Fantasy. Sure, there are some comedic parts, but most adventure movies have a little comedy mixed in.

One I really liked that I haven't seen mentioned: Definitely Maybe.

Others already mentioned that I would include as well are:

When Harry Met Sally
13 Going on 30
Princess Bride
Sleepless in Seattle
Just Friends

I love a really good romantic comedy. Unfortunately, there are so few of them that exist.

(not in any particular order)
The Princess Bride
When Harry Met Sally...
Love Actually
Harold & Maude
Annie Hall
Moonrise Kingdom
Say Anything...
The Philadelphia Story
(500) Days of Summer
Crazy, Stupid, Love
Four Weddings and a Funeral
Notting Hill
The Wedding Singer
50 First Dates
Splash

Those are ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Breakfast at Tiffany's would have made my list if it wasn't so racist...

A great romantic comedy from the male perspective is High Fidelity.
