I don't play shooters very often, because I'm absolutely terrible at aiming with a controller. I was raised on Duck Hunt, and firmly believe that all shooters should be gun-con compatible. Sadly for me, nearly 20 years later, there are still very few games that support gun-cons.
Having said that, when I do feel like playing a shooter, I can never get comfortable with the Y-axis, whether it's inverted or not. Sometimes I invert it while exploring, but while aiming and shooting it just feels awkward. It gets even worse when I try to play co-op with my fiancée, since he's a habitual Y-inverter. I understand the mechanics behind the inverted Y-axis, but it still seems silly to me unless it's in a game where the player flies and airplane. How do you set your controls for shooters? |
