Absolutely. It's one of the worst encodes I have ever seen from Shout.

IMHO no, at least not at $56. Now, if it was around $30-35 I would probably bite just because I don't have the UHD edition of Fury Road yet. Warner should have included the B & C edition in this set.

They did include the B+C version in this set

For those who are interested in the High Octane Anthology set w/the car....

After some issues with Amazon, I finally got the set from eBay and decided to do a little unboxing video for it. My first ever, so i'm sorry for the mediocre audio and PQ, and editing (there's a lot of sentence mixing/cutting/etc. in there). But anyways, here you go, and i'll probably be posting some actual pictures of the set later this week too if you'd rather take a look at those.

I have a renewed interest in getting the set now that I have a 4k TV. I want the UHD of Fury Road which is half the price of the set already. The other half of the money might be worth it for the documentaries. Happy to see the packaging, thanks for that.

In the end, has anybody watched the new Road Warrior doc ? Does anybody know its runtime ?

There has been lots of discussion about how Warner keeps recycling discs and how the Mad Max movies were craving for new extra features and yet, I haven't read anything about the only substantial new extra features included in this set.

We really need a BD release of the first film with the original Australian mono mix.

You can also take the DTS-HD MA 5.1 and covert it to DTS-HD MA 1.0 if you have a PC or receiver that can do that.

The 5.1 mix is heavily altered though.

Warner didn't send out review copies of this collection, so there's been next to nothing written about it. I only threw the new Road Warrior doc on for a minute or two, AFAIK it ran just over an hour. The Mad Max documentary DVD looks awful, as we've said before -- like Youtube compression bad (or, actually, worse).

I watched the doc back at the end of December. It runs about 50 minutes. I thought it was quite good. Plenty of behind the scenes footage I had never seen before and it has new interviews with Miller, Gibson, Vernon Wells and a few other people whose names are escaping me at the moment. Unlike the "Mad Max" doc, which I have yet to watch, the "Road Warriors" doc looks great. If you're a fan of "Mad Max 2," make the time to give it a spin.

My only complaint really about the set -aside from Warner not springing for new transfers on the second and third films- is that there's nothing for "Thunderdome" in terms of supplements outside of the trailer. I know it was a troubled shoot, but come on. Something...anything.

Any hope for the B&W version to be in 4K? With the rumored "score only" track?

Just picked this up from Amazon. Had a $18 credit that I used on it. So total cost was a much more manageable $36. Can't wait to watch the chrome edition. Still keeping my tin from a few years ago too.
