you stated Amazon was better in reply to a comment but their fees are higher. I am just stating a fact. You can start all the sites you want but without traffic you have no business. So while you are griping and moaning, those two venues are proven and demand higher prices than any self maintained site.

Good post. I actually am thinking strongly about utilizing forums more just because of the fees.

Sadly, all of that is true. To an extent, eBay is really going to be able to charge whatever they want because they have the one thing you need to expose your item, and that is traffic. Until there is a site with similar traffic, we may not have a real choice if we want to put an item out there for a mass of people.

This is what happens when we allow companies to become monopolies. eBay is in the same boat as well.

Yeah, they are the 800 lb gorilla and as such, it's gone to their head a bit with the fees. Not much we can do other than let them know our issues with them or go somewhere else.

I think I'm almost done with amazon, most big box stores are price matching them nowadays it isn't really worth the wait and also packaging can be touch and go. I rather go out and hunt for items anyways.

Before the thread disappears:
I got one! Had my daughter pick one up for me in WA (no BBY here). She did the store p/u option on Tuesday, then told me she wouldn't be getting there till yesterday. I sweated bullets for a day but all turned out well.

Nice! The store pick up option is how I got mine on Tuesday. I was afraid I would get there and find the regular edition waiting for me, but the Best Buy employees came through.

BestBuy.com says that the Greenspoint location in the Houston area might still have copies.

Uh-oh, it's going to be like the Cannonball Run to see who gets there first!

I think its stupid New York best buys had only a few copies.
I mean, how many people live in this city? I believe it's close to 8 million. At least 200 should have been distributed here, but no...

And we should really start a marketplace for collectibles only... If anyone is interested and has the skills to build a website like that... well, that would be a nice start. I don't know how much it costs to build a website like that, but I have a small fortune of my own .

And I disagree about the traffic that is needed. Sure, eBay is a popular website. But we could easily defeat eBay if we focus on one group only, steelbook collector's. It's not like there are millions of steelbook collector's...

Perhaps there were, and maybe a bunch of New Yorkers decided to preorder for the 100 RZ points, conceivably sapping all that area's product?
Was the fist time BB offered RZ point on a store exclusive preorder? I imagine when people found out about that, store stock all over was cut considerably.
