Therefore, if true, they haven't even started planning. We will be waiting quite a while. If anything, I could see retailers maybe trying to offload their stock by turning their remainder stock of the individuals into their own complete set packaged in such a manner as you indicated (the previously released sets shrinkwrapped together as one item).

Second... we have absolutely no idea what the packaging for the UK set looks like or consists of. It may be a box like the previous DVD complete set releases of all Star Trek series (much like the Bond 50 set). It also may just be the individual seasons housed inside that big box we see advertised on Amazon.co.uk. Trek Core (an official Star Trek news website) has repeatedly contacted the distributor over the last month to try and secure more details and/or photos of what the set will look like on the inside. They have failed at every turn. So, it seems as though this issue will remain a complete and utter mystery until orders start arriving on customers doorsteps so they can take some pics and share them with the internet.
Well on your first part, that's kind of what I'm saying. They didn't really do a TOS or ENT complete set here, so there's no guarantee they will do a TNG one. Even in the DVD days every other show just got a bundle of the individual seasons, only TNG for a real "complete series" set.

I'm the weird one I guess because I would actually prefer the individual cases to a huge cardboard monstrosity. That's just me. If you're excited by the repackage in the UK though I guess my point is go for it, because there's no promise of anything in the US to match it.

Lava_Lander -- Did your copies require a bit of work to fit them into the cases with their slipcovers on? I just tried my first one with Season 1, and it was a bit of a task to get it in there nicely. Before I continue on, I just wanted to make sure that was the norm with these things.

Jesus, the UK set was shipped last night and Amazon is saying it won't get here until the 8th of January!

Why are people who own all the ST TNG season sets buying the episode discs such as Unification and Chain of Command? Aren't these episodes already in the season sets? What's the point of buying the exact same thing twice?

It has shipped already? Why hasn't MINE shipped already? I want it 2 days faster as well!!!

As for the estimate? They are likely just covering their own asses due to the upcoming holiday parcel insanity that occurs across the entire globe. Most of the time Amazon.co.uk gets my parcels to me at least 1 week prior to their estimate. But, to keep everyone from e-mail them like crazy, they give customers a very generous date to ease what I like to call "freak out potential."

EDIT: Irony. Gotta love it! Apparently I received shipping notification as I was typing the above message and didn't notice since I have my headphones on and my phone was lying face down on the couch next to me.

Has anyone tried removing the clear "Made in Mexico" sticker near the back bottom of the slipcovers for these seasons.

If so, how careful do you have to be? It would drive me insane if any print coloring came off the slip.

For those interested in the UK Complete Series set it turns out to be neither cardboard foldout packaging nor standard releases in a box but two jumbo plastic cases with one containing Seasons 1-4 and the other containing Seasons 5-7.

Guess it shouldn't be that surprising as that is how the DVD re-releases from earlier in the year are packaged.

Has anyone seen copies of All Good Things at a physical store besides BB? $17 is just too much in my opinion.

That wouldn't bother me at all. I'll be happy if the outer box matches the style and measurements of the DVD Full Journey boxes released previously. Those are really nice looking, compact and hard wearing box sets.

If anything it probably looks better, as it sounds like it doesn't have an awkward final slim case for season 7, and has a proper lid.

But then I'm a sucker for complete sets... I basically don't buy TV Blu-ray unless it's in a complete series box set.

Just wish we got one for Enterprise.

If BD is replacing DVD, wouldn't it stand to reason that they eventually get a release on Blu as well?

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit, that's nasty. I didn't mind those fat cases on the complete DS9 set because I watched it once then sold it on (just wanted to reacquaint myself with the show, it's been a while), but I'll keep my lovely season sets thankyouverymuch.
