Nope. They did start filming on the 13th of Jan. But they didn't film every day. They only shot for 28 days. Anyone who follows Ryan Turek on IG can confirm this as welI, as he would usually update his timeline with pics and his IG story on what day of filming it was. Yesterday his IG story said Day 28. And last night they wrapped up filming.

They do have off days, and days where they have to plan and set things up, so that accounts for the extra days not accounted for.

I'm not all that familiar with Blumhouse but aren't they well-known for getting their films shot quickly and efficiently?

Got to admit, I don't keep up with production of most movies. Just special occasions such as this one, but I've heard the same things. I've been very impressed with Blumhouse and the type of work and films they have released, so I'm confident in this one.

I've been really thinking about going to the Halloween 40 years of terror convention in Pasadena this year and do the tour bus around the locations with Sean Clark. I would have to save up, but it would be my first con and first time traveling outside where I live. Lol

You don't really need Clark to take you. All the South Pasadena locations are pretty accessible. The Hollywood ones too.

Oh I know, but it's mainly for the experience and meeting everyone as well.

For sure. I was really surprised that the Myers house and hardware store are right next to each other (I know the house was physically moved yeeeaaarrsss ago), the alleyway from 2 is right behind the house, and the Myers house from RZH is a two minute walk away lol

The bus tour IS an absolute blast! I just hope this time Clark calls ahead to the bar from H3 so one bartender isn’t stuck serving 100 people this time lol

I saw the South Pasadena locations on my own in 2001 while there for my first ever horror convention. It was surreal to stand before Laurie's house and the Myers' house. The Myers house was relocated and fixed up but Laurie's house still looked the same as it did in 1978. Even more impressive, the owners play up its use in the film and welcome fans' presence. There's a sign on the front porch designating it as Laurie's house and they even have a plastic pumpkin fans can use in pictures sitting on the column that Laurie sits on in the film. I've even heard before that fans have encountered the owners, who are very friendly and share stories about the filming; they've lived there since before the film was shot.

I also took the bus tour during the 25th anniversary convention in 2003, where we got to step inside the foyer of the Myers house, which was pretty cool. But just visiting the locations on my own was the best experience.

If they're doing the daughter and grand daughter thing, they should have just continued from H20 with Michelle Williams and Josh Hartnett and called it Halloween H40.

The whole point of continuing only from the first film is to retcon the family ties

Sounds like you have been to the convention before, from your own personal experience how is it? This would be my first time this year.

Yup! I went to H35; traveled 4500 miles by my lonesome at 22 lol. Luckily I met other attendees on my shuttle from LAX to the hotel and we became good friends. I had no idea what I was in for because I’m not a convention goer, but the best thing to do is take a bunch of cash and pick who’s autograph you want on the spot lol. Most guests charge $20 for an autograph (though some were $30-$40). One tip I have is to not hold anyone on a pedestal and look at them as everyday people; they’re usually very chatty and genuinely interested in conversation. I sat with Bradford English for well over 20 minutes simply chatting about how well known my province is for its fish lol. Stacy Nelkin was asking me a lot of questions about my job, and I smoked with Ken Foree...and he is exactly like he is in films lol. Hannah Hall was really amused that I was Canadian and knew her as a child from the Goldilocks film she was in haha (it was exclusively sold by McDonalds Canada). It really is one of the greatest experiences for a Halloween fan, and if you’re thinking of going, don’t think twice. Just go. Even if you are alone, you’re surrounded by people who share a love for the same thing; you’ll make friends.

After writing all that, I will actually be devastated if I don’t manage to come into some money to go to H40

Cool that Stacy Nelkin was there. At H25, one of the hosts (might have been Sean Clark; I didn't know who he was at the time) was asked why no cast members from Halloween III were attending. He said Tom Atkins wanted to but was starting a play that same weekend in New York, Dan O'Herlihy was in ill health in England and couldn't travel, but Stacey Nelkin simply couldn't be found. He said they had looked all over and made lots of calls but nobody knew where she was. Glad to see she's been turning up at cons in recent years.

The only shame is that the person I would love to meet the most, I know for sure wouldn't be there, which is JLC. I would do anything for that.

And it would have also been really cool to meet Donald Pleasence.
