She drives an invisible jet and has a lasso that makes people truthful. I don't know how you make sense of that, and if you try, it would really hurt the film by stuffing it with scientific mumbo jumbo. Instead, I love how the film acknowledges the ridiculousness of the material and just goes with it.

People trying to make sense of the return of Steve Trevor and pointing out its moral problems are completely misreading the wavelength the film operates on. IMO.

Something was needed since his character would have been 100 years old in 1984. Is there no other DC lore that would have made more sense for him to be transported him through time?

They could have just played the the "son looks exactly like the dad" card if they really wanted Pine back that badly.

I mean, it’s basically a magic lamp. I think it could just bring him back through magic without any tricks beyond “it’s magic” hahaha!

I agree. Just have Diana wish Steve would come back to life, then he magically does, and just leave it at that. Don't explain any further. You see, they tried to explain it further and got burned for it. This ties into my point above. Don't try to explain or justify the ridiculousness of the material. You will only get burned. Instead, go in the other direction, embrace the ridiculousness for what it is and run with it. I think WW84 did that for the most part, except they tried to explain the return of Steve Trevor and got burned for it.

I hope future filmmakers learn this lesson.

If digital had it then I am sure the disc will. Would be penny wise and pound foolish not to offer shifting aspect ratio on physical release.
